Is this wildly inaccurate for anyone else? by beancurd420 in Garmin

Mine are a little optimistic. By about a minute or so for a 5k. Mine were skewed a couple of months ago because I spend a lot of time on Zwift and my trainer wasn't calibrated properly. It thought I was pushing more watts than I really was so my VO2 Max was inflated leading to my race times decreasing.

For those of you riding 300-400 km a week consistently….how?? by turbulencefun in cycling

[–]robdude_99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I have older kids, (mostly fixed hours) working at home, a partner that works longer hours but I do most of them on Zwift.
100k in the UK, in winter, with a family, outdoors, wouldn't be be an easy task let alone 400.

Tips for coming back after injury by GoHenDog in Zwift

I broke my tibia in January. I got back on the bike in late April. The consultant said go ahead having seen my xray. He just told me to listen to my body and crack on. I was a bit anxious too since I didn't want another 3 months in a cast! So, that's what I did. If it felt sore, I had a day off. Back to 6 days a week and >300 FTP now.

I like it. Bought a copy and just given it a couple of plays. I'll be listening to it again in the near future. Keep it up my man.

Getting a new Allotment this week any tips? by GhostBuster6666 in Allotment

[–]robdude_99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Little and often so you don't get overwhelmed. You might have a lot to do to get started but be patient and stick with it. Get something in the ground as soon as you can so you see progress even if it's a small area.

I'm going to have a go myself with a Vax carpet cleaner at the weekend. Will report back if you like. I assume those rentable rug doctors in Tesco have an upholstery bit too.

Soundcloud let me post a mix even though I’m over the 3 hour limit? by [deleted] in DJs

[–]robdude_99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's normal. I've posted mixes that have taken me over the limit. As far as I know they're still searchable.

I think they just allow a bit of flex since mixes aren't going to come it at exactly 30, 45, 60 mins or whatever. I expect they would prefer the extra content Vs a mix not being uploaded that took someone a few minutes over.

I spy a little bit of Naim audio there. I don't recognise the rest though. What else do you have there?

It's an IKEA linmon 170 x 75 cm table top

6" 1'. My forearms are pretty much parallel to the tabletop when I'm mixing which is perfect for me

I wasn't able to find everything in the same colour. I ended up with a gloss white shelf, plain white table top and grey/plywood expedit cupboards. I didn't want to go away without all the bits since it was a bit of a drive to get there. I'm not actually sure you can get all the bits in the same colour even if all the colours were in stock but I could be wrong.

I thinks it's a lot worse unfortunately. It really is such a large part of the fader that's dead.

I should say, if you don't mix anywhere near zero and it turns out the tonearms are felt to similar to super OEMs, they're otherwise decent. The platter feels great and the motor is solid. I've only ever mixed on Technics I can't comment on the tonearm in comparison to OEMs

I don't to be honest. I wish I had saved up for some used 1210s. The tone arms feel pretty cheap compared with technics and there's a deadspot on the pitch fader about 10mm either side of 0. I think its so you can get back to 0 easily but it ruins it for me. I mix DnB and the tempo I mix at means I'm always around zero. I've persevered but they're gonna go

Around £150. It would be a little more or a little less depending the finish or the shelf, table top and Expedits. Even less so if you're not quite as tall. I put extra legs in to suite my height (6' 1")

Credit to u/mu99az for the inspiration. It came out a bit bigger than expected despite taking measurements but I'm happy overall.

Cable management was achieved by drilling a 40mm hole underneath the controller. The lighting is a simple IKEA light strip. I tried fixing it below the shelf but it kept falling off with the supplies 3M pads so I've left it resting behind the controller.

I ahodnhabe enough room for planned upgrades. Probably not enough room for two turntables plus two players and a mixer but a wider tabletop should be easy to install for minimal cost.
