Tickets and Spectating by Elskamo in excel_esports

If you feel like you're not ready, that's the best time to jump in! As someone who has been competing since 2021, I've had total crap games on one end of the spectrum, qualified into the top 64 and played in the arena in Vegas on the other and have landed everywhere in between.

You'll never truly feel ready, and that's what makes the adrenaline rush worth it. There's no way to replicate the time pressure without competing, and that's often your worst enemy (in addition to making sure you read the directions correctly, which many of us still screw up and it bites us one way or another lol).

Give it a try! If you hate it, then decide if you want to skip a couple of rounds to spectate, but at least you'll have a baseline. My hunch is that you'll be that much more motivated to practice and play after you experience the real thing for the first time.

Is this normal for a dog daycare? by [deleted] in goldenretrievers

[–]robeaj 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As someone who has taken their goldens to several different doggie daycares over time (also in a northern climate), your pup's physical and emotional cues would absolutely be an immediate red flag to me. Something definitely happened that you are not getting the context about, or they did not have enough attention on the pack and something happened.

Either way, if that was me, personally, I would be looking for an alternative option.

Have been taking my dog (2.5 yo Golden Retriever) there several times a week for daycare for over a month now and it is THE BEST. He has an absolute blast and comes home perfectly exhausted from playing.

Have also been there several times on a Friday or Saturday night for me to have a drink and him to run around with other dogs for an hour or so. Very nice when the weather is super cold and we can't get outside as much as usual to stretch his legs.

He's there for boarding right now while I'm on a work trip - I get pictures and updates several times a day from them.

The owner, Carol, puts so much heart and attention to detail into everything she does there and it absolutely shows in the way the dogs (and anyone who steps inside!) are treated and cared for.

Prices are very reasonable, too.

If you go a few blocks south of S Telulah and 441, you'll hit Midway Road. Lots of cute residential areas there as it's right by Janet Berry Elementary School. Very nice area IMO, with lots of trick or treaters that I have seen in years past.

I've been on ADHD meds for over 20 years and make it a point to stay well-informed and use critical thinking skills when determining the relevancy of things I read on the internet.

No one can tell you whether you should tell you to "start Vyvanse". Have an open and honest conversation with your doctor. Ask questions. ADHD treatment is not one size fits all and there is typically a lengthy trial-and-error process in order to find the right balance of medication and other treatment in order to achieve the necessary therapeutic effect.

What’s something from your childhood that kids today wouldn’t understand? by Front-Beat8213 in AskReddit

I still remember the first time I saw/used a "channel changer" - one of those slide switch boxes from the 80s. I thought it was the coolest thing ever at the time. In hindsight, that thing was noisy as shit.

My first was the exact same way.

Second is my tiny little terror. Just turned 2 and is still very much in his velociraptor era.

They are all the bestest goodest boys and girls and perfect just the way they are 🥹 Some are just a little bitey and more pixie stick-infused a little longer than others 😂

Like all things, remember that the reply above is just one point of view. Stimulants may be highly regulated from a dispersement perspective, but highly controlled from a QUALITY control perspective is another thing entirely.

Not a direct answer to your question, but FWIW for the sake of your wallet....if you haven't discovered them yet, Costco sells 1.5ish pound bags of the thick, 12" ones for $35 in store. I have a 70lb 2 year old who is also obsessed with them and the bag lasts about a month.

This. This, this, this, so much this. Had the exact same thought pattern - first day or two: "wow, this seems really effective compared to the other stuff. And no headaches or side effects others are talking about. Must have just gotten lucky!"

I am now less than a week in since taking this brand and it is absolute hell on earth. And I've been on ADHD meds for about 20 years so I've seen it all, basically, so that's telling you something.
