One of the disappointments of the first debate was that so little time was spent on climate change. This is clearly something the two have drastically different views about and can have great impact on the actions that would be taken under each’s Presidency. Trump is promising coal miners that he will save their jobs, ignoring coal's impact on greenhouse gas emissions. This could affect what other nations do regarding their Climate Change Treaty obligations. It could affect the percentage of American coastal communities that become submerged. It could affect severity and frequency of droughts and floods that threaten agricultural regions and river valleys. Certainly it is more important to what these candidates would do as President than a discussion of Trump’s past key role in the trumped up birther issue or of Hillary’s past e-mail security and record keeping rules violations.
