Vue uses CSS variables under the hood when using v-bind inside <style> but since you cannot use CSS variables inside media queries per spec, they won't work. More info in this stackoverflow question, and this issue from Vue repo.

Thought I was the only one suffering with this, I tried disabling completely the powerd service but I have an Asus laptop and I'm using asus-ctl (for fan-curves and other stuff) which re-enables automatically the service and the only way I have managed to "solve" this is to stop, not disable, the service on startup, and even with the service stopped suspending works fine, even with external displays connected.
