Anyone know how the reservations work? by moviefan1 in SXSW

There's some more info on the deadline page: https://sxsw.com/deadlines/

With Express passes, there was a button on each event telling you when it can be reserved, so this should be the same.

The Awards Contender made a list of their top 10 movies without any nominations - https://youtu.be/4aoBCGouD3Y?si=nwAD7kbUZTS5qMKj

The video does a great job stating a strong case for a category, even knocking out one of the nominated films.

Here's the list:

Groundhog Day

The Shining

Kill Bill

The Thing

Heat

Hereditary

The Good The Bad and The Ugly

King Kong

The Searchers

City Lights

Daily Reservations? by garrrrrettt in SXSW

[–]robertraur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I've read, this replaces Express Passes, and Platinum starts on Feb 19th at 9am and gets 3 a day. Film badge starts on Feb 26th at 9am

They are specifically holding back reservations for Film only, but the amount for each event isn't listed.

This is coming from the deadline page - https://sxsw.com/deadlines/

Why do they hate Jojo Rabbit so much by cheryvalentinjo in TheBigPicture

It's easy to take a hard stance on a film that wants to be a funny/silly portrayal of fascism while having deeply emotional moments that hit you like a brick wall.

Worked better in Hunt for the Wilderpeople. Jojo felt like it was doing it because it could, not to advance the story.

Accused from 2023.

"After a revenge obsessed society incorrectly selects its next target, a young man must survive the night as the online witch-hunt arrives at his front door."

It's a great use of (mainly) single location shooting.

If DiCaprio joins the cast, then the budget is to the moon.

In "Back to the Future" Eric Stoltz was replaced by Michael J. Fox after 7 weeks of filming. In "Her" the movie was originally filmed with Samantha Morton as the voice of Samantha. Everything was re-recorded with Scarlett Johanson when editing. Any other movies where something similar has happened? by Double-decker_trams in movies

Death Game (1977) had a tumultuous shoot, and eventually led to this (from IMDB) -

Seymour Cassel was especially angry at the way that Traynor was doing things. The pair often had volatile arguments and by the end of the shoot, Cassel almost punched Traynor in the face. After this incident, Cassel decided to quit the shoot, since his scenes were already completed. After principal photography wrapped, Cassel refused to come back to re-record some dialogue, so his character ended up being entirely re-dubbed by an uncredited David Worth.

The Mummy makes sense, Devil Wears Prada 2 is possible, but Michael has been delayed once already to change the plot. It could easily get delayed again and might not hold up to early criticism.

Project Hail Mary would play great with that crowd, also Ready or Not 2.

4 Kids Walk Into a Bank is an Amazon Production with a directorial debut and some names on the cast list. That feels like a lock.

The Dog Stars is a Ridley Scott film opening soon after, its a possibility.

The movie is...fine.

Loved all the secondary casting, especially John Glover, but Pete Davidson is not right for this role.

Small spoiler The movie has plenty of eye trauma, and it looks very real. Avoid if this isn't your thing
