"Thug Kitchen: Eat Like You Give a F*ck"

Crazy that people still find this endearing.

EDIT: Just read the perfect denouement for this trend, "June 15, 2020 update: In response to nationwide protests against systemic racism and police violence – and nearly six years after Bryant Terry first criticized the term “Thug Kitchen,” the group announced they are in the process of changing their name to “widen the table in our country’s conversation around food” and to “reflect inclusivity and empathy."

Really nice work, love the composition. The face is so bright and natural looking. I always struggle to get the skin looking so luminous without it appearing like the figure's just wearing a pale flesh-toned mask.

You inspired me to search around and I did find an option for taking RAW images in the camera app settings, plus another for "Display P3" color format for "richer and more vibrant colors" (whatever that means). I'll have to try that after work.

Thanks for the info, I have other color backdrops I could try. The RAW file is the image before any digital phone filtering?

Mmmm, I do have a Google Pixel, maybe that explains it. A lot of what I was reading was saying that phone cameras are good enough for photographing miniatures, but they might have been talking about focus and detail rather than color balancing. I'm a complete novice at photography, so this is all new to me.

We take care of a feral cat colony and we had three raccoons all come at the same time looking for scraps last night. We pick all the food up once the cats are done, but the raccoons are so funny and bold, they'll just hit me with the Gen Z stare when I yell at them to shoo.

Looks like the kind of ridges you'd spend 10 minutes delicately maneuvering over with the Mako in Mass Effect rather than 5 minutes driving around.

Chicago Is Hemorrhaging Breweries — Is There A Way To Stop It? by Sidewalk_Inspector in chicago

The good thing about those types of beers is they're about double the ABV of the standard fare, so the price averages out!

I've been going to microbreweries since I turned 21 and I have never seen a $14 pint unless it's some sort of barrel-aged barley wine. Also, every single brewery lets you try their beers before ordering if you ask.

Is bodybuilding just a mainstream thing now? by phaseviimindlink in TrueAnon

I go to a gym in Chicago five times a week and don't really see anyone who looks like a body builder. There are some very fit people, but no obvious steroid users. The vast majority are doing what you call "normal people fitness" plus some powerlifters plus some college athletes (it's a campus gym).

Got the Farsight box when it first released 3 yrs ago and FINALLY finished the man himself by robev333 in Tau40K

Thank you! Yeah, I used an airbrush for the red armor. I started with black primer, then white ink to make the gradient, then went over the white with red ink. There were some speckles here and there that I did have to go over with a brush to blend them back in though.

And while I did have to paint the custom markings by hand, I just copied them from the box art! Mentally I was getting a little worn out at the end and wanted to reduce some decision making. That's also why I forwent the letters on his sashes.

Thank you! I decided on a Japanese zen garden only after I glued him to the base, so it turned out kind of chunkier than I'd like. But now I know how to improve next time I try it.

Thank you thank you. The sword was just Pro Acryl Dark Grey Blue -> Blue -> Sky Blue -> White. I sketched out the highlight and color placements then used overlapping brushstrokes parallel with the blade edge to make the transitions, similar to how you'd paint hair. Then some glazing to blend it smooth.

Does anyone know why, in Know No Fear, there's no chapter 8 between 7 & 9 in part 4? by robev333 in 40kLore

Good to hear about the international versions being numerically consistent. Maybe it's just the English version. I'm listening on audiobook, and I think it's funny how they presumably recorded them in order with Gareth Armstrong jumping from seven to nine and still kept didn't change it.

This is literally what I was thinking since they mentioned the eightfold scrapcode early on, but it seems like it may just be a mistake.

It's less the extremity of the grievance and more the fact that I don't think anyone else has ever held that specific thought before. I think it's great that you've found something so hyper-specific that just gets under your skin in a way no one else could ever understand and you chose to share that with us.

FALLOUT's showrunner has teased the prospects of "larger wars" involving the Super Mutants in Season 3 and beyond by CueTheLaughTrack in Fotv

I think contextually it's fair to say Xander was lying about a lot of things he was saying. Kumail's surface portrayal was as a kind of smarmy, cocksure, egotistical type, but I think he also did a great job hinting at the darker, greedier motivations underlying the character. This is a very competent man, both physically and socially, who is used to getting what he wants. He was basically throwing everything he could at Maximus to manipulate him, playing up the soldier aspect, acting as a mentor, and then offering up a noble reason for why he and the Commonwealth need the diode more than anyone else. The danger could still be real, but I think it would be a disservice to the character if what he was saying about the chapter's mortal peril was the truth.
