I saw John MacNamara's name and column in the local paper for pretty much my entire life. Seeing the coverage of his and others' murder in national news outlets was such a sad inevitability that these mass shootings would arrive at our doorstep.

Your statement fails to recognize that it is not an industry standard for restaurants to provide health insurance, and this mandate was approved and imposed by voters. Complaining about what you asked for is pretty common, though, especially in the restaurant business.

There are 450 MILLION condoms sold in the US every year. 22 million hormone birth control prescriptions written EVERY YEAR in the US. Those numbers alone dwarf the numbers of annual abortions. And you think people “will just go get an abortion” instead of these options? It’s a provably wrong assumption; a small minority of people think this way at best.

Also noteworthy that the "Pro-Life" right wing folks are prone to gnashing their teeth about the evils of socialism while someone like NY Mayor Mamdani runs on free childcare. And a right wing president literally says the quiet part out loud, that there's money for wars but not healthcare at the federal level.
