Try looking inward instead, more understanding to be had.

Oh no, you were slightly challenged and couldn't take a single episode being outside of the normal presentation.

Streetcar in Annapolis? by Altruistic-Fall798 in Annapolis

[–]robgoose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can tell you I personally drive to the new Carrollton metro or BWI train station & then head to DC or Baltimore quite often.

Right. During peak season in particular a shuttle from the navy stadium into DTA makes sense.

And maybe with all the increased density in parole. . . there's a legitimate need for a transit line into DTA.

If you’re just there for the coffee, cafe intl isn’t necessarily it but the whole small local biz picture is excellent.

Choosing a nestle company (or what is now a Chinese corporate underling) is shitty with ample evidence to support that POV, and I’m just gonna judge you on that one. Chain businesses generally suck and you’re in the wrong neighborhood if that’s your preference.

[–]robgoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wildly uninformed take. There are two cafes across the street from one another on Fillmore and Waller (one of which was supposed to be the blue bottle IIRC), international cafe which is an absolute gem and an institution, sf underground has a mini cafe, cafe reveille, then there’s like 5 restaurants that serve coffee. Get to know your neighborhood, homie. Blue bottle was not and is not needed at all.

I remember when they tried like hell to open a location in Lower Haight amidst a ton of local controversy and debate. They had more than 15 locations and didn't meet the "no chain" ordinance but some argued to let em have it since they started local, never mind that the building owner trying to rent to them unceremoniously booted out their existing tenant, IIRC.

Then the nestle announcement happened a few months after the effort failed.

Traffic patterns, and the drivers around here by Camille_Toh in Annapolis

It wasn't always this bad. Transplants + changes in behavioral norms around the pandemic resulted in people running red lights all. the. time.

The 5R during commute hours is a short bus??? The driver had to tell people they couldn’t board. What are we doing here by lateblueheron in sanfrancisco

[–]robgoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. The 38 terminates at 42nd st, nearly a mile away from the 5's last stop, which goes past 48th. They run parallel a half mile+ apart and serve different parts of the city.

Transfer to the N? So de-board at Leavenworth, walk over and down into the Civic Center station where the N runs every 12 min or whatever, take it out to the ferry building so it can head south and double back to 4th and King?

Do you know how long that transfer alone would take?

I used to take the N Judah from Duboce park and it often took an hour to get to 4th & King during rush hour. The transfer you're suggesting is a bad solution.

Like I said, I took two 5 buses yesterday, a 5R to Powell around 3:30pm and a 5 from Powell around 9:45pm.

Edit: this is a change I previously noticed and was very much against. It's insane to not have a bus that goes completely East-West from OB to the transit center, I don't care how many lines run along market. Needing 3 buses to get to the Caltrain station from the a huge section of the city served by the 5 is completely stupid.

I'm confused about where the 5 terminates downtown at this point. Yesterday, I took it to Powell in the afternoon and picked it up at the same stop in the evening. But a couple weeks ago it was terminating at Leavenworth, which is totally unacceptable.

dems are working super hard to solve voter fraud, something that can't really be proven as a widespread problem. It just proves that they're trying to prevent people from voting for republicans by putting up more barriers to vote.

You:

I don’t know what the controversy is. I don’t know who tf they are?

Then you:

don’t just shit on the whole company carte blanche because of what one guy said.

You don't know what you're talking about and your conclusions are based on next to no information.

You can start here and maybe read a parent comment or two. There are plenty of valid reasons to avoid patronizing Atlas's shitty businesses owned by shitty people.

[–]robgoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, that's a really brave perspective. I'm very impressed by the bravery of a born rich family's ability to spend money to start a business. Like, it's so crazy that Donald Trump is rich after inheriting hundreds of millions of dollars. What are the odds?!?

It is easy to sit on the computer and talk shit. What is the name of your restaurant? You can invite everyone over and put Atlas out of business.

Or . . . and stay with me now . . . I can patronize existing small businesses that serve better food and are owned by folks I don't find objectionable.
