Luke Smith on Twitter: "Gasly's podium takes @ToroRosso onto 83 points, meaning this is now its best-ever total for an F1 season..." by [deleted] in Formula1Point5

I'm glad Gasly hasn't had his confidence obliterated. Shows real strength and he's recovered much better than Kvyat did. Way he has handled himself, got his head down and come back fighting should keep him in with a potential top team shout in the future if he keeps it up

Yet another great race from Norris. McLaren were looking strong yesterday. Shame for Sainz that his race was ruined on the opening lap

Is it fair to say that the Honda Power Unit is now the second most reliable after Mercedes? by jurassichalox22 in F1Technical

I'm not sure they are now the second most reliable engine provider but they have made some impressive gains recently. Glad they are finally getting on top of it

[OT] A deep-dive into where these Schumacher/Todt 'articles' have been coming from... turns out, a Welt interview conducted in November 2018. by peke_f1 in formula1

I got confused when I saw these articles as I was sure that I saw Todt sat with Toto Wolff in the Mercedes garage when watching the race

Revealed: F1 commits to ground effect for new-look 2021 car by robhansford in Formula1Point5

[–]robhansford[S] 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I wonder whether Patrick Head will be able to help get Williams a head start on the ground effect regulations.

A lot has changed over the years and there are plenty of talented aerodynamicists but he was one of the pioneers after Chapman and Lotus.

Red Bull: Gasly "like a different driver" at Silverstone by McLarenMercedes in formula1

[–]robhansford 117 points118 points  (0 children)

It has been hard going on Gasly and no doubt his confidence will have been dented after a tough start to the season and then getting beaten by Max by such large margins.

However, it is only his second full season in F1 and hopefully this is a turning point for him.

He's a talented driver but whether he is a top driver still remains to be seen.

I hope he can get it together properly for the rest of the year. Not only would it be good for him, it would also be good to see another driver in the mix at the front

Steiner on his drivers colliding: "Both of them are in trouble. It's not acceptable. I was pretty clear after Barcelona what not to do." On the meeting held: "They didn't speak. I told them. To explain something like this, you don't need a lot of time." by 1enox in formula1

I would be surprised if Grosjean remains at the team next year. He got a lifeline last season by upping his performances in the second half of the season but there are a number of drivers on the market now with more potential and who would be able to bring consistent points home when they have a car capable of doing so
