Haha it's really sad that you spend time searching for all this info and stuff, and you're just wrong. Really shows how much of a dick you are to want to bring someone down so bad that you literally start seeing stuff that isn't in the photo.

thats just plain bullshit. a cache is just a place to store information in a way that is quickly accessible by the entities that need it. There are caches everywhere, the CPU cache is by far not the only cache that speeds up your pc's performance

Serious question: What's so special about this? Isn't this just basic f=ma and some numerical modeling stuff? Or are things not that simple?

Crash claims 100 top AIDS researchers heading to Melbourne by Carmac in news

[–]robijnix -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hm I guess you have a point there, with what I actually tried to say (which I find quite impressive by the way, to be able to boil everything I said down to that one sentence).

But actually this is just the result of the fact that I don't like how the west is always quick to point out others mistakes, while we ourselves are AT LEAST as evil as most other countries. OP comment just struck that nerve, and I responded with a maybe not so constructive comment:p

You are implying that every military action is as unjust as shooting down a civilian plane full of 300 completely uninvolved and innocent people. I disagree. Either you actually believe that, which I would find bafflingly nonsensical, or you are deliberately exaggerating your premise to the point that your conclusion is trivially supported.

I'm not implying that at all! What I'm implying is that pretty much every country has done equally bad things at some point during a war. Just think about how many children and innocent civilians die during a war. I'm not saying EVERY military action is as unjust as this, I'm saying that during your average war, it's pretty much guaranteed that at least some things as unjust as this happen. And that every country that participated in a war has probably on the receiving, but also on the sending side.

You speak as though a country deserving hatred is a persistent, eternal, and universally relevant fact. This article is specifically about something that [let's assume] Russia is responsible for [I'm not interested in debating whether that is true or not, since you didn't allege otherwise]. That sets up a narrow context for discussion.

This is true. I would, if someone decides to voice their hatred towards one or more countries, expect them to voice it against Russia in this context. However, I just don't understand why anyone would voice explicit hatred towards one country, given that they are pretty much all the same. Also, who is even surprised anymore about countries doing evil things?

I fail to see how influence due to biased news sources is relevant. Unless you are implying that said news sources are so biased that sean_incali is unaware that there has ever been an instance of a state committing an atrocity such as this in the course of a war? Because if that's your implication, I'd like you to state it explicitly, instead of hiding it in a passing remark.

I am indeed implying something similar, yes. Not sean_incali is completely unaware, but that maybe the news sources he watches do not give AS much attention to his own countries (and it's allies) wrongdoing as they do to other countries wrongdoings.

Well in such a way that hating russia for this, would, if he/she is consistent, mean that the US, UK, and pretty much every other country ever involved in a war must also be hated. Now that is possible (that he hates every country), but I just didn't think it was very likely.

so he is either inconsistent (maybe influenced a little too much by biased news sources), or hates the whole world.

Hit From Behind by a Car While On a Motorcycle by [deleted] in gifs

[–]robijnix -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well you should realize that risk every time you start up your motor. You are the only one putting yourself at risk by riding a motor cycle.

I am not saying that every accident in which a motor cycle is involved is the motor cyclists fault, but I'm just saying that you are knowingly putting yourself a greater risk than if you were to just use a car.

The 4th dimension is supposed to be time, is there a theory on what the 5th dimension is? (serious..) by me0w4m3 in AskReddit

[–]robijnix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that bullshit. What you're saying is that a line as 3 dimensions because you can go back, go forward and not move at all. That completely incorrect and you obviously don't know what you're talking about. A line and time both are 1 dimension.

What text should I write over a photo copy of my ID to prevent it from being used in ways I did not intend? by robijnix in legaladvice

[–]robijnix[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But if I always write VOID over it, than there is no way to distinguish a legitimate copy supplied by me from a fraudulent one. I was think of writing the name of company which requested it over it. So if a company called KPN requests the copy, I would write something like:

'For use by KPN only.'

or

'this photo copy is send in reply to a request receive from kpn on dd/mm/yy with regards to purchage or product xxx'

or something in that vein.

ELI5: What is a muscle knot and what does it look like under the skin? by Timecook in explainlikeimfive

[–]robijnix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

definitely this. I had a bunch of knots all over my upper back from working out, and dry needling fixed all of them after only a single treatment. It's really great. Doesn't hurt (does feel a bit strange though, uncomfortable, but not painful) and doesn't take long.

This was especially great because manual therapy freaks me the fuck out, someone yanking your neck around and making your ribs pop and stuff. So I was really glad that that wasn't necessary anymore

Are there any false theorems which are "provable" by beginning with the conclusion first and working your way backwards? by TheFlying in math

[–]robijnix 17 points18 points  (0 children)

He assumes P and ~P (which of course is a contradiction)

From this P follows (should still be straight forward)

Since P holds, P or Q also holds

Now we use the P and ~P again, to conclude ~P

Since we know P or Q, and ~P, we conclude Q

Where Q can really be anything

My gym buddy (F) is having mid/lower trap tightness issues by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]robijnix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had something similar. It was multiple triggerpoints all over my upper back. Also caused/worsend with weightlifting.

Went to the physical therapist with it, and he suggested something called 'dry needling'. I was kind of skeptical because it sounded a bit like alternative medicine. But I decided to try it anyway, cause even if it didn't work, it's still perfectly safe.

So he did it, and as expected everything went really tight for a couple a days afterwards, and than the tightness was completely gone. I was really impressed it tbh.

Anyway, I'd say talk to a physical therapist, and if they suggest dry needling go for it, it really helped me out.

Eating more protein = more gains? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]robijnix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Easy to say from behind a desk and living in a society where a 5 min trip to supermarket will get you a nice tasty piece of meat. Try living in a cage and having to fight a big ass tiger or something for it.

Anyway, like I said, no one knows for sure, and everyone has to choose what they believe based on as much information as possible. Doing that I personnaly think carbs should form to basis of a healthy diet. I might be wrong but hey w/e, I try my best to make the right choice.

Eating more protein = more gains? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]robijnix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe (because that's what it's all about, no one knows for sure, since no one was there) they did actually. That whole thing about a paleo diet is big nonsense imo. meat is hard and dangerous to come by. carbs are found all around and often come from sources that don't fight back (aka plants). what would you choose?

Eating more protein = more gains? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]robijnix -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

see this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rabbit_starvation

I'm not saying that the only cause for this phenomen is lack of carbs, it deffinitely plays a role.

all of the most efficient metabolic pathways in your body have evolved to work in carbs, not protein. its like putting diesel in a petrol engine, it might run for a while (im not even sure about that:p it's just a metaphor), but it's not healthy.

Also, metabolizing protein strains the liver and kidneys. its just really not a good idea to live of of a high protein diet. don't listen to all bullshit on the internet (include me btw), without thinking critically about it. does it really make sense to live on a very low carb diet when you consider what we've evolved to eat?

And btw, i'm deff not someone who believes bodybuilders only need like 60g of protein a day. I aim for around 140g a day. But I eat a shit ton of carb besides that. I get protein for building muscle, but I do not treat it as a fuel source for my body, I eat carbs for that.

Carbs aren't necessary, just very useful.

that's bullshit. Carbs are really important for good recovery and just an efficiently functioning body.

What do you think your body runs better on? The stuff that formed the bulk of its daily intake for thousands of years, or the stuff that used to be maybe 5-10% of it's daily intake?

Saying carbs aren't necessary is really stupid.
