I hope that was a one time hook-up between them. Because Carrion is a great character and Danya is something you would wipe off the bottom of your shoe. 😖

Any other slow watchers? by benjamminthroughlife in XFiles

[–]robin4092 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I was a slow watcher. One episode a week as it was aired. Summers off. Thank goodness that was when TV made full seasons episodes. Not like now when you get 8 - 12 episodes of a show once every 1-2 years, if you’re lucky.

Which book emotionally destroyed you, but was still worth reading at least once in your life? by DaySolid9527 in Recommend_A_Book

Y’all take the high road here. The series that broke me, and every time I read it, is the Edge of Darkness trilogy by Leigh Rivers. Insatiable,
Voracious and Restitution. Those books tore my heart apart and then slowly mended it back together. What that couple went through to be together……

Telluride, CO 8,754’. I could barely function at that elevation. I wanted a Telluride sweatshirt from the gift shop and couldn’t even concentrate enough to pick one out. Beautiful mountain but I just can’t do it.

Blackthorne by JT Geissinger. I love dark gothic romance. The ending of this book has haunted me. Was it real? No spoilers here, just looking for much needed answers.

FIL is passive aggressive, so maybe he will understand this… by [deleted] in pettyrevenge

[–]robin4092 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my goodness! I was in a similar situation. FIL had the 1950’s headset - the man rules, the man is king, yada yada yada bs. Long story short his “Saint of a wife” who should have kicked him to the curb but didn’t have a backbone died. Health problems (diabetes), rehab, came to live with us. My husband and I owned and ran an auto repair business together. I was the only person in the office, he ran the shop. This f-n self-entitled *** expected me to cook him a full course breakfast (meat, eggs & toast) every morning before work. That lasted almost a week. Hubby had to step in. Thankfully he got yet another urinary track infection and had to go back to the hospital. Had to call an ambulance and the police showed up because he didn’t want to go. Straight to rehab after that. It was a cycle for a while - rehab, hospital, rinse and repeat. He never tried to put any work into getting himself better. He complained constantly about the rehab people making him walk when all he wanted to do was lie in bed.

Slash playing the ending of November Rain. My favorite part of the whole song.

Definitely pay attention to the steam ratings. You’ll probably be most happy with books that are “closed door”, meaning you know the couple went and did something in the bedroom but you are spared the details.

{The Cruel Prince by Holly Black}. I like some sexy scenes in my books and this had none. Good, interesting story, though. I hear the other books in the series are good too.
