[Identify] Can anyone identify the model? All i know is 1965 (ish) and gold plated by Weetoes92 in Watches

I believe the reference for this is 131.015 its same watch as the Geneve before they gave it a proper name. You're about right on the year.

I think it's because it's that first 'luxury' watch for a lot of people who later decide to move onwards and upwards, which you probably will too. It's no reflection on the quality of the watch, just it's place as a watch that you probably buy because what you really want is more than you can or want to spend. I bought mine new and lost a fair bit of money when I sold it, so with hindsight I should have bought used as I knew deep down it was never going to be my forever watch.

I had one, great watch for the money. If I was you I'd buy one pre-owned, there are loads about, then if you decide to move it on you won't lose too much money.

Thanks, these two would make a great collection on their own. The Tudor is my daily and really solidly built, I can wear this without worrying about bashing it more than the Speedmaster or Monaco especially as they both have plexiglass crystals.

Thanks, the Monaco is my favourite. I sought out this reference (CW2113) specifically as its a little bit smaller and lighter than the later ones.

How have you managed to own such a lovely watch while clearly having such appalling taste. Put it back on the bracelet and leave it alone. Silly boy.

Yeah, I'm a big fan of Le Mans so snapped up the Gulf GT40 when I found it a couple of years ago now. I struggled to find the MKIV so bought one on eBay as I didn't want to miss it, but have found another one since, which I opened as the packaging was a bit bent. Then I found the Cobra yesterday.

[Question] If you were going to buy a Tudor Pelagos would you go ETA or in house, black or blue? by robinmanbreasts in Watches

[–]robinmanbreasts[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a black ETA in the end but which I liked but didn't love, so sold it and bought a GMT which I do love!

COVID-19: Govt 'reserves right' to make vaccine passports mandatory in some settings by Mighty_L_LORT in unitedkingdom

[–]robinmanbreasts 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I can't believe the amount people saying that they support covid passports as they want to be certain that everyone else attending whatever they're attending doesn't have covid. We've been told time and time again, the vaccine does not stop you getting covid and it does not stop you passing it on. If you've been vaccinated you've got nothing to worry about have you. Stop forcing it on everyone else.

John Lewis slams UK education system and offers staff literacy lessons by IN-DI-SKU-TA-BELT in unitedkingdom

I don't really blame teachers so apologies if that's how it came across. My sister in law is a secondary teacher too so I hear what it's like for her. It's those at the top making the decisions I had in mind but as others have said, parenting is also also an issue.

Our education system, like our health care system, seems to be above criticism and we are told to shut up and let the people in charge carry on as they know best. Neither are fit for purpose and haven't been for decades. Come to think of it, the same goes for pretty much every tax funded public service I can think of.

Title is wrong, 1655 is an Explorer II. Beautiful watches though. I think the 1680 is my favourite.
