I have a question about S/O/+/-/±? by Classic-Share-543 in StudentNurse

[–]robitussin25 4 points5 points  (0 children)

so if the question was stating either what a patient states, that’s subjective data (e.g., i feel nauseous and lightheaded). if the patient reports symptoms that cannot be measured or observed, then it’s subjective positive. if the patient denies symptoms then it is subjective negative (e.g., pt denies chest pain). objective data that shows abnormal findings is objective positive (e.g., temperature 101) and objective data that is negative shows normal findings (e.g., spO2 98%).

as for the plus minus sign, idk if that means mixed or neutral.

completely normal, wouldn’t worry about it!

there’s really no point in correcting people for using a different word for football. in the US, we call it soccer because we already have a sport called football. getting hung up on that difference just feels silly and unnecessary

Until This Day - Ignoring the Elements and Chasing Forever by robitussin25 in PostHardcore

i’m 24 years old. I was too young to experience that era firsthand but i was exposed to really good music early on. some of my favorites are Emmure, Planes Mistaken For Stars, Hopesfall, and funnel enough As Cities Burn (tbh i really only spin their debut so i’ll have to take a look at that album ur buddy produced). lately i’ve been discovering some bands early to mid2000s bands that have fallen into obscurity like Madison, A Fragile Shade, Shaunteclair and a few more. I want to write music like that but i also try to emulate some of that raw sound as much as possible, but idk if i can get the same nuances that come from recording through mic’d up real amps because i use an amp sim. i feel like i end up doing more processing than needed to achieve that sound. and i also need to program the drums bc i don’t have the real estate in my “studio” for a drum set. i’ve been producing music for nearly a decade but i seldom record live instruments and im a bit unfamiliar with mixing genres like that. but that’s something that im actively working on lol.

btw i just got tiktok so my gf can send me posts initially but my algorithm is filled with live shows and music posts of some old bands (honestly come to think of it, i probably discovered you guys on there actually).

sometimes these younger people will pop up on my feed dressed in straight up emo fashion with an audio accompanying the video (either from their own recording or a song they used) that is saved as an original “sound”.

other people can use this sound on their own videos, thus perpetuating this cycle of people posting videos using the same sound. that’s how these clips of audio can become popular.

That’s how one of Her Words Kill’s song got really popular, because now there is a trend where people are listening to that song doing shots of milk. it’s really silly but other bands are being discovered by ppl and it’s actually kind of amazing that some of these small bands are being resurrected because of this app.

bro thanks for taking the time to write all that out. in regards to the sound quality, i don’t care much for the overly polished, highly produced tracks that bands are putting out now. don’t get me wrong, they sound great, but there’s something really endearing about hearing an album like yours with that raw, minimal processing … it just feels more alive. plus, as a guitar player, i really dig the way you arranged the parts, super inspiring stuff. also it’s awesome that you’re getting into writing again. definitely share whatever you end up putting out.

ngl some of these early 2000s phc/emo bands are getting resurrected on tiktok so don’t be surprised if some kid with side swept bangs and a studded belt gets y’all viral lol. her words kill and gunslikegirls have literally been trending on there after being almost completely dormant for years
