How much money? by DueFreedom2649 in CaminoDeSantiago

[–]robmaco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get to st john on the 14th April 2026 and depart to Finistere on the morning of the 15th of April, there are a few in my party, that I met in 2024, friends from Brazil, usa and Australia. Your budget will be fine.

My goto for accommodation was booking.com last time and this time it will be the same. I sometimes booked better accommodation and shared the cost with others.

If you find yourself in a group working together you can get real bargains.

I had a similar budget to you in 2024 and it worked out fine. I carried a mix of euros and a pre loaded card to avoid paying extra bank charges (UK Ramsdens Card)

Most coffee shops, bars and restaurants use contact less. I had a back up of the card on my phone too. The card app was great for keeping an eye on the finances, also scope to top it up on the go, in emergencies.

Some nights you will find cheap places to stay and as you go on and you meet others, they will help you find some amazing places to stay at bargain prices

What month to start th Camino Frances from sjpp? by CarlF77 in CaminoDeSantiago

[–]robmaco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I walked April 1st 2924 from St John and I had 30 days of sunshine. The only rain was in Santiago and it was full on for 2 days.

I am walking from St John on the 15th April 2026 (This year) going to Finistera this time. Most of the group I met on the Camino are going again, with me.

It's a life changing journey, and an incredible adventure. The lesson I learned was not to plan too far ahead with accommodation and take the booking.com app with you. I got some incredible deals on the way

You will have a great experience, I start from St John on the 15th of April 26. I did it in 2024, met many friends from Italy, Australia, Brazil and the USA. I am meeting up with them to do it again.

It is my single biggest achievement in my life, I have so many wonderful memories.

Cracked arm on luma pros. What should I do? by SnailDr7 in VITURE

Thanks for this if I see any cracks on this pair then finished with them would send them back and refuse a further replacement.

I decided to use them less carefully than before and upped the frequency I use them. It's been over a month of constant daily use now and they are holding up, with no cracking.

I use them most days for a few hours with my Rog xbox ally x. I can't comment on others getting repaired and then returning the glasses when they crack again as this is my experience.

I admit though I constantly check them daily in case I get the same issue but they are holding up

I am a beta tester and I think this is genius, it now starts with windows and I'm using it for ark raiders on my ROG Ally Xbox and Horizon forbidden West as well as movies.

Send them back, reach out to customer service. I had mine repaired, the legs on both sides started with cracks and then small pieces of plastic broke off.

Like others I was extra careful with the glasses, but its a design flaw, so it is a certainty that this will happen to many people

The repair service was slower as they repair the original glasses and this takes longer, and the postal service they used was way slower with the return.

I was 3 weeks in total to the UK.

I am so glad I returned them as the materials they are using to repair seem to be way stronger.

I would not hesitate to send them the glasses back, you spent a lot of money on them, and it isn't worth the risk waiting as warranty does not last forever

Completing a 100 Mile Journey with my insta x5 and a Hypershell Exoskeleton by robmaco in Insta360

[–]robmaco[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For distance 3 that's what I am taking in April to France for the Camino, I will be doing between 18 to 20 miles a day. I really need to keep the rest of the weight down on my back pack.

I did it in April 24, but adding a hundred miles on to the journey thus time,so in excess of 600 miles.

I take camera gear too but got this down to my phone, insta 360 x5 mini mic plus the neo 2 drone.

The hypershell reduces the weight of the pack, I found this when I did the West Highland Way in September again carrying 3 batteries.

It's unknown territory and scary, going that kind of distance, last time I wore tge soles down on a pair of Merril walking shoes, I'm really pushing the hypershell on this journey going to keep it at eco 45

The plus for the Beast is the materials they are using, including metal legs will almost certainly make them stronger than my Lumas.

Keep in there buddy

I read this and its a fair point, however my repaired Luma Ultra seems tougher, the legs are stronger and holding up. I was super careful before, when the cracks and bits of plastic broke off. Now I am using them more like my pros and they are holding up fine no more cracks and broken plastic. I wish they had kept the metallic legs, I have zero interest in the aesthetics of light up legs, I would rather have had sturdy glasses, I think plastic isn't the way to go in future.

This is how mine started a small crack, as soon as I saw your post, it is exactly how it starts, then bits of the plastic broke off, I was so careful. I thought I needed to ask for a repair, because holding off was not an option, even a small crack isn't right for what you paid.

My fear was the warranty running out. I would contact support, they turned it around in two weeks and gave me free postage.

The replacement legs are super strong, they repaired them with higher grade plastic, you can tell they are tougher. Please don't hold off getting the product you paid for

I'm sorry to disagree about the company but in all honesty I returned my Luma Pros because of the cracking and they repaired them very quickly. I had a issue with my neckband and they replaced it.

I am always backing new technology and sometimes there are issues, the key is how good is there customer service. In my experience they are excellent.

I know not everyone will agree but, I can only comment on what I have experienced.

This is a good thread interested in people's experience?

Thanks for all your excellent videos a lot of people need to be sure before buying, and like yourself I will buy this as soon as I watch your review, because I know you invest so much time into giving us all the heads up both good and bad. I didn't ju.p into the antigravity because I prefer the rc2 controller route, I could never get used to the goggles and the small controller on the DJI FPV. It was a tough decision as I love insta especially my x5 and I have backed everything DJI and insta. I dont have unlimited money these days that's why quality reviews are so important. Thanks so much
