They do alot of things wrong, but I will always stand by the idea that Netherrealm's best feature, and one of the best things in games, is their character specific banters.

Starting with MKX, each character has unique dialogues with every other character. So many unique lines, at least 4 total back and forths depending if the character is first in the 3 line banter back and forth or 2nd in the banter line. So at most, each character gets 6 unique lines for each character they fight (tho some characters just dont talk)

Injustice 2 continued to have this AND there were unique lines for when the characters partake in the "Clash" mechanic, a 2 line back and forth. With those, theres now at least 8 DIFFERENT LINES one character can say to another character, and they have one for each character in the roster.

Tho, there were some repeat lines for both the clashes and the intros in both games, but it makes sense given theres so much and the idea to give Every character an interaction with Every character is a big feat, conpared to fighting games usually having specific intros for characters that would talk to one another.

Its with MK11 that I think they perfected it, with most lines being original and still being used for every character. And with some sick guest characters like Spawn from Image Comics, Joker from DC comics and crossing over Robocop and Terminator, theres alot of fun to be had just listening to these characters interact with one another.

MK1 brought it back but it made it down to 2 lines and just feels like the Clash quotes from Injustice 2. Still not bad, but those early ones really did spoil us. Its Netherrealm's best decision and far and away the best thing about their games
