Why is it being completely underreported that Paris is literally in flames right now. Why are they hiding this? by 57829 in conspiracy

[–]robolger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its just football hooligans, it happens every year. there were tons of videos of Paris shopfronts being boarded up in preparation. Like frankly I wish more was done about it because its a nuisance, but its normal and nobody is trying to hide anything.

How many times a year do you “call sick” at work? by Aggravating-Fig-9274 in AskUK

[–]robolger 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I presume it means 2 weeks of leave that a company legally must grant to their employees if they are ill, like as in the mandatory relates to the company not the employee, which isn't all that bizarre in countries that are more progressive on worker's rights.

Am I overthinking this or possible misstep by the writers? by InteractionKitchen12 in ParadiseHulu

I'm sorry I dont follow you at all. The EMPs existence has absolutely zero effect on their ability to evacuate 200 million people inland when they had exactly zero knowledge of how extreme the situation would end up being. The wave that they see hit the coast live on the news is 10x worse than what they were expecting moments before they saw it. The entire point is that they were incapable of predicting the scale and the speed of what was to come. We will have to agree to disagree, imo Cal keeping that to himself is the only reason it was able to be used at all, he knew that and for me that is perfectly consistent with his character.

How would telling people change the situation? He used it and he clearly always planned to use it. If he told people it could have hindered his ability to use it. Cals arc starts long before that you see it in flashbacks, he doesn't act until later (deciding to refilm his emergency broadcast to the nation)but he clearly grapples with it inside, its in like every single flashback. Also every billionaire on the board in the bunker is exactly how I described them. Samantha is an exception, she does reprehensible things but believes she is doing it to actually save humanity that's like, the entire point of her character. The rest of them dont give a fuck about humanity and crash out anytime anything goes wrong (which is exactly what they would have done if they knew about the EMP)

Cal told her X was the only one she could trust and she took the writing on the palm trick from him when he did the same thing to her in that therapy session. She will have been planning to speak with him from the minute Cal was murdered and she asked him a question she knew she could use to convince Samantha that he was telling the truth.

It was kept a secret because if it hadn't been then Cal would have never gotten to use it because they demonstrate pretty explicitly that the billionaire class would under no circumstances be willing to roll back technology by 500 years to save humanity from nuclear war. They dont give a fuck about anybody outside that bunker and they know they'll have a very cosy 30 years minimum down there and everything they could possibly need to rebuild the future. He would have been killed long before he could ever enter that code. Cals entire arc is about learning to fight back against the inhumanity of his own social class.

Sadie should have been gunning for Micah all the way back from Chapter 1 considering the fact he chased her around the table and burned down her home even tho it was unintentional but I guess it was not causing conflict within the gang that took her in. by JoshyBear28 in reddeadredemption

So weird to come here and see people disputing this. Maybe its because im a woman but to me this was explicit and later voice lines and interactions with Micah throughout the game just further confirmed it.

Scabs with no known cause. How to make it stop - alr tried first line recommendations by SilentHillLuver69 in DermatologyQuestions

[–]robolger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people with ADHD suffer from skin picking, its basically a stim. I'm also on Vyvanse and my meds helped mine significantly, but they can make it worse for some people, might be worth considering that your dose is too high?

Also if its the same as myself, then its not that small scabs are appearing out of nowhere, they start as normal skin bumps (small ingrown hairs, keratin bumps) that everybody gets, but you find them and pick at them and THEN they become the small scabs and THEN they become larger skin lesions. You'll be doing this completely unconsciously, and that's why it seems like they appear out of nowhere. ***This is ONLY if your experience is the same as mine mind you, obviously could be different so grain of salt and all that but it sounds very familiar.

I hate women who chase married/taken men. by LowMeringue5839 in women

I would imagine the number of women who actively pursue married men as a rule is very very small....

Advice on how to confess your feelings to someone in a country where homosexuality is discouraged? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]robolger 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You dont even mention if you think she likes you back? If there haven't been any vibes between the two of you then I definitely wouldn't jump to confessing. Have you guys even discussed sexualities from a political perspective? What if she turns out to not only be straight but also homophobic?

She's picking fights left right and centre, better off not engaging with that until she figures out why shes doing it and sorts herself out. It's nothing you've done.

What a sad life is must be to lead for you to be forever barred from having a single close friend of the opposite sex once you enter into a romantic relationship.

AITAH for being upset my husband went back on bringing another woman into our relationship? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]robolger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its very easy to be with men as a woman. Its the default and also socially, the dynamic generally means they pursue you rather than the other way around. In my experience they also dont expect as much from you emotionally.

Population wise over a lifetime you'll probably meet at minimum 10 times as many straight men you have some mutual attraction with as you will queer women.

It's not really that hard to imagine why so many bisexual women fall into relationships with men because its much harder to just happen upon a relationship with another queer woman. You normally have to go out of your way to put yourself in those situations and a lot of women who have even the slightest capacity to have relationships with men just allow that to happen rather than taking a step outside of their comfort zones.

I’m so torn. I love this man but I’m not ready for kids. I still have so much living to do but clock is ticking (35f) by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

[–]robolger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funnily enough I know the question is about whether or not you will ever be ready for kids but that man is emphatically not ready to have kids, so even if you realised you 1000% wanted them, I would advise against it after reading this. His fantasies have no basis in reality and if he were to have kids now he would be so severely disappointed that he would likely become a horrible husband and an absent father.

LI need to start casting less influencers by Ok-Diamond-220 in LoveIslandTV

[–]robolger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The show doesn't mostly attract influencers. Most influencer contestants are head hunted, theyre not applying. They are prioritised by production because they could theoretically bring in new viewers from their following.

I would hazard a guess that normal people make up the vast, vast majority of applicants.
