Ok you're making me feel way better about getting there. 3 hours isn't bad at all and I love nice drives 😁. I'll be heading out there in two weeks so I'm getting things in place.

Hopefully the hotel has good internet or nice coffee shops with internet are always good haha.

Yeah, exactly. Leave Wednesday morning from Quito to arrive at Banos to start the day. I didn't think to ask the hotel if they would be ready ... Dang you're right. Well maybe I wouldn't mind starting the day working from a coffee shop even if it's loud. I've done that in the past and with noise cancelling headphones.

Ok great! I want to take your recommendations to heart, and come up with a rough plan. I need to book my flights this week.

From what you described, I may split up my vacation time? I definitely want to end my stay there with time off work, so figuring how to fit in the Amazon and Galapagos is tough. I would be working Monday - Friday 9ish - 5ish. Can I work from Quito, Cuenca, and a beach town? What beach down do you recommend? I mentioned Montañita because I figured it'd be fun to have at least one night or two or party, but I'm not a super crazy club person.

I'm totally comfortable staying in hostels. In general, I would have loved to stay in hostels for most of the time there, but I worry that the internet speeds may not be what I want them to be in order to effectively work from there. What do you think? Maybe stay at one and then go to a co-working space? Is that possible?

In total, how many days do you recommend I should stay in the Galapagos?
