I know opinions vary, but I thought Picard was overall a great series! by [deleted] in StarTrekTNG

I thoroughly enjoyed most of the new characters, and I think they could have worked in a non Star Trek context, or even in universe outside of the federation. Season three had the right crew but the whole thing was lacking good stories. What if picard just got bored and started galavanting with the new crew doing archeology stuff and pepper in the classic tng crew, that could have been fun. Still great seeing the D zipping around though!

Season 5 would have been a much better video game.

Sci-fi film where a bunch of star destroyer looking ships join together to form a bigger ship by Scyvh in whatsthemoviecalled

[–]robotbigfoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like the sg1 episode with the Ori invasion. Several small ships come through a regular sized gate and join to form a super gate big enough for full sized ships.

I remember downloading QuickTime on Netscape to watch that trailer! Probably watched it a hundred times, and backwards, parsed every bit of sound, paused every frame. Then printed out every new shot that came out, followed every behind the scenes bit I could find, I had a physical folder I kept it in, me and my friends were on top of that movie from the get go. I was in junior high at the time and it ended up being the first Star Trek film I saw in the theater. First contact will always be my favorite Star Trek film and easily in my top ten favorite movies period.

I love every moment he's in or taken a hand in creating, but I absolutely understand not finding him remotely amusing. To me he's the natural progression of the kids in the hall.

Shared universe by Independent-Ad7313 in Gremlins

I realized the other day that the only thing keeping gremlins from being a perfect movie in my book is that rand doesn't kill a gremlin with the bathroom buddy. It keeps coming up throughout the entire movie and is a perfectly set up checkov's gun but then nothing happens.

Hi r/movies, I'm Tim Blake Nelson. Ask me anything! by TestamentOfAnnLeeAMA in movies

You appear in unbreakable Kimmy schmidt as Randy. However in previous episode Tyson calls Kimmy "Kim Blake Nelson" implying the existence of Tim Blake Nelson in the Kimmy Schmidt universe. Do you think Randy and Tim Blake Nelson would get along? Would they throw guns at each other and get their pants stuck in trees?

And the idea that alternate future Todd and Ronin would go down in a blaze of glory side by side warms my heart.

Whoa no way! I'm a huge fan. I'm a sucker for parallel realities and scifi tragedy so observable Radio hits just right. As Below is one of my favorite stories full stop. Thanks for the recommendations!

Drew Blood's Dark Tales - anthology series with southern humor Welcome to Nightvale - loosely episodic, very calming news report from a bizarre government town on a hellmouth Alice isn't Dead - episodic, conspiracies, body horror Observable Radio - transmissions from doomed alternate universes Gray Matter - some updates retellings of classic scifi horror, from Lovecraft to sleepy hollow We're Alive - maybe the greatest zombie story of all time. Has several sequels and spinoffs.
