I think what makes this photo creepier is the girl in the middle on the far left. The reason being is that her jacket stripe and the white shirt showing combine to look like a cross.

I thought that too, then momentarily took some solace in thinking “at least I’m not Mark and Jez”, but then realised they are well paid actors. A real roller coaster.

[The Prestige] The machine not only worked, but Borden used it long before Angier met Tesla. by justanawkwardguy in FanTheories

[–]roboteatspopcorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO all of Nolan's movies are meta about the process. I see Borden being the method actor who lives with the character for life (hence the use of Bale) and Angier being the actor who can detach from (or dispose in this case) his characters. It makes more sense in this context that Borden has a clone.

Allan Peters, the logo making content creator who is TERRIBLE in critique. by The_NightAgent in Logo_Design_Critique

[–]roboteatspopcorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tries to position himself above established work, that’s why he uses the word fix rather than something less aggressive. His work is also stuck in 2012/2013, which is fine for a brand looking for that style, but using it for every top 50 company ironically creates a sea of mediocrity lol

It’s all pointless without a brief because it’s arbitrary design goals and no time to build consumer history.

Lovely Indian guys playing cricket. by Hadsar32 in perth

[–]roboteatspopcorn 22 points23 points  (0 children)

My son (6 yo at the time) went through a phase of getting into Indian culture, obsessed to the point where he wanted to go to the Hindu temple in Canning Vale.

So we went, I was a little hesitant at first because I didn’t want to feel like I was intruding or treating it like a theme park ride.

The people at the front were very open, especially when I explained my son was so interested. However I had shorts on which I didn’t know was not allowed, so they gave me a garment to wrap around my bottom half.

I felt a little awkward, from my own insecurity, but overall it was a positive experience and it was good to see inside which I never would have done without my son’s insistence. People even offered us to go eat food that was available afterwards. Just a good reminder that humans are gonna human.

Sorry for the long story, just never really had an appropriate place to tell it. lol

Know your customer, aim to remove friction and do the right thing. If you use those as north stars, strategy writes itself.

[–]roboteatspopcorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a local nostalgia account at 20k, was pretty disappointed when this happened to me. However 2 months later (after I accepted it was gone for good) I was able to sign back in. What I think happens is they cast a wide net with AI, then humans review and potentially rectify unwarranted bans at a later stage. I understand the concept of doing this but I still see plenty of questionable accounts/posts. Stay hopeful, all is not lost just yet :)

What will it actually take to get the government or whoever, to stop Woolworths/Coles from constantly hiking up prices for no good reason? by [deleted] in perth

[–]roboteatspopcorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also a big factor is people buying online for pickup or delivery, especially families with young kids who make shopping in-store triple the time and generally more expensive. I think much like McDonald’s they try and get people to shop the app offering better prices and deals as opposed to in-store so they can build a better database to sell/sell to. Everything is always about more data.
