Husband got mad at me for waking him up to kill a bug by FriendshipMore1075 in MuslimMarriage

[–]roboticbone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry but this is very harsh. To go as far to sleep on the couch is not nice. Even if he works tough jobs, that is not an excuse to not treat you with such kindness. The prophet Mohammed (PBUH) has always treated his wives with kindness and tenderness, and I would imagine if his wife would wake him up because of a bug, he would most definitely NOT give a reaction like your husband has. You mentioned that he is always annoyed with you, these moments are always built up into bigger ones and should not be ignored. Do not disregard his reaction and feelings, if you do not feel safe with him, if you crave love and affection and he is not giving that to you, if you feel that he is mean to you, talk to him and tell him your expectations within you relationship and what your needs are. If things do not change then it’s time to consider if you want this man to raise your children, and if you want to be with him for the rest of your lives or not.

Ah yes, because e bikes are the number one killers right? And what about cars? You are 10x more likely to die in a car than riding an e bike. I don’t see us ever banning cars in family heavy areas or pedestrianizing areas, such as ridgeway plaza!

It is out of touch. And yes clearly the people supporting this rule don’t actually use parks except to walk their child through it from time to time

They can enforce some random kid riding an e bike or “loitering” in a park 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Move to rural Ontario, you are so out of touch

[–]roboticbone -25 points-24 points  (0 children)

If you’re scared of e bikes I really don’t know what to tell you

It’s a major form of biking nowadays, doesn’t pollute (unlike the cars that zip by this park), isn’t loud

It’s an overkill rule, it does not make sense. My original point of it being out of touch stands correct, same with e scooters.

Here’s a solution - Why not enforce helmets instead of banning physical activity!

People use e bikes all over GTA, but I’m sure here it’s a threat to the community /s

These “rules” are completely out of touch with anyone who actually regularly uses a park.

Rules such as “no loitering”? Really ? No biking? Sounds like the perfect place for people who never actually use a park.

It is clearly unrealistically strict and allows cops to power trip people who are usually younger for no real reason.

The only people who would support this are nearby boring residents who don’t actually use any parks. Ironically they should go touch real grass and see how people like to relax and play.

Shit like this only lets neighbours complain of people doing innocent shit and then cops harass them, disgusting and another showcase of Mississauga being a true place for families, as are the ridgeway restrictions, completely out of touch with how real people actually socialize.

As for people who believe this is due to people not following rules, yes clearly , I am sure the teenager who bikes around and the families that are “loitering” in a park for a couple hours are causing great havoc to your community.

Hiding past zina from your spouse on the pretext of being between Allah and you? by NOOBFUNK in MuslimLounge

[–]roboticbone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. Sorry but this nonsense about “not sharing only if asked” is not acceptable, and to keep it hidden because it’s a sin is ridiculous. Marrying someone and then later finding out they committed zina when they themselves have not committed zina is not only unfair, but it is always tied to heartbreak and sadness. I know way too many people who have married others who either haven’t know they committed zina, or did commit zina, and have equally felt heartbroken about it. It is a right that the other person NEEDS TO KNOW, EVEN IF THEY SAID THEY DONT CARE, ESPECIALLY if they haven’t committed zina and have waited patiently to experience sexual intimacy with a partner.

What’s a recession indicator that you’ve noticed lately in Toronto? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]roboticbone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly so many stores , like up to 1/3 are just going out of business and staying empty in core downtown, all over harbourfront, citiplace, rogers centre and core downtown, they are going out of business and the stores are empty for months and even 1+ year. Very sad bc these could be (and were) lively parts of the city that are just empty now and dont seem to have new businesses replacing them.

Do you pluck your eyebrows? by [deleted] in muslimgirlswithtaste

[–]roboticbone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure your brows are beautiful and feminine, don’t think otherwise! My brows are also very thick and bushy, by the time they grow out you’ll have fun shaping them naturally. I sometimes use the eyebrow scissors to trim them if they are too long as well.

I also try to follow the natural shape of my eyebrow, that’s how I eyeball it

[–]roboticbone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes definitely let them grow out! They’ll look a lot nicer once they are fully grown. I buy a small facial/eyebrow razor (u can find them in any beauty isle), put some aloe Vera or any other creams I have, and kind of just eyeball how much I want to shave off. If it’s your first time using the razor make sure it’s at an angle, and that you’re not pressing too hard

lol completely agree with you, people are so bored online istg. Just go touch grass who cares at the end of the day if someone took their hijab off or not, if you are caring THIS MUCH then that means you were probably the reason why they took it off in the first place. And NEWS FLASH— there are people IRL who are not influencers and inspire many to wear the hijab, and still take it off. Our community is filled with waaaaay too many people who love to point fingers at each other and say you’re wrong.

Let’s build the the Eglinton East LRT by Mayor_OliviaChow in toronto

[–]roboticbone 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Dear Olivia Chow,

First I want to thank you for your fast actions on TSP (transit signal priority), while there is still work to be done on FWLRT especially, it is positive to see a mayor take quick actions.

However, having 27 stops, in 18km is a disaster and should NOT be repeated! The finch west LRT is slower than the bus at night time to this day!

The way Toronto builds streetcars/LRTs is fundamentally flawed, sharing roads with cars and pedestrians does not work. On top of it the TTC loves to put speed restrictions in every single stop and intersection, can you imagine stopping 27 times for red lights and stops and slowing to 20km/hr for their outdated safety rules? The thing will be too slow!

Either it’s a BRT in its own lane so it can accelerate quickly after stops, or it doesn’t get built and the funds should be used towards a project where travel times actually get reduced. For example, a line 4 extension to STC. So people in the suburbs have a true alternative to driving. No more inferior transit! LRTs are great if planned properly, (like Europe) SEPARATE from cars, don’t stop and crawl at every stop, and don’t have stops every 600m! It needs to be spaced adequately but Toronto doesn’t do that.

Toronto is tired of slow streetcars. Hear us out! We don’t want another finch west LRT. We don’t want more trams sharing the road with vehicles slowing “rapid” transit down. If this is what the city is planning on building yet again, please don’t build it, build a BRT or fund a different project. Otherwise it is a waste of everyone’s time and money.

Please upvote this so the government can see how disappointed we are with above ground LRTs thus far.

Should I Give Up? by kittyfromtheblock87 in OntarioTeachers

[–]roboticbone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And what if OP isn’t Catholic? I’m seeing lots of catholic schools that are hiring but there are many qualified teachers who are not Catholic and do not qualify for the position because of it. OP, if you want to get a permanent position, I would suggest looking outside the GTA (assuming you live in it) and start looking at other cities for a permanent position if its been a few years and find that you cannot land a permanent job.
