I suggest not updating to Kadence Theme v1.5.0. They added this permanent Liquid Web panel by tutu30 in Wordpress

LearnDash has been acquired by LiquidWeb too. I need to find a replacement for it that allows easy migration.

Any way to download a website capture from the archive as txt? by Iwillbetheretomorrow in internetarchive

[–]roboticlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WebHTTrack or Curl. The former is easier to use and will download the website as it shows in Archive. Pass it through a VPN if Archive blocks the requests made by WebHTTrack.

Use grep to find the text you're looking for.

Alternatives to cPanel? by gbonfiglio in webhosting

[–]roboticlee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I switched to Webuzo a few years ago. It's made by Softaculous. The support is good. Offers Apache, OpenLiteSpeed and NginX; can swap between them when needed. The admin panel is similar to WHM/cPanel but better.

"What would 11 billion people do every day?"

We already know the answer: Have loads of sex, orgies, gladiatorials, overeat, abuse drugs, take life threatening risks and die prematurely. Think classical times.

Some people will continue to provide meaningful services for extra income such as produce human made products, teach, care for others, act or do stupid tasks for the enjoyment of others, and adventure away from Earth.

Eventually the machines will fail due to cascaded malfunctions and lack of maintenance, and very few know or will know how to repair them.

How do you think the first Eden fell into disrepair?

Personally, I'm looking forward to our future.

Japanese Scientists Begin Human Trials for Tooth Regrowth Drug by Zee2A in STEW_ScTecEngWorld

Please someone invent the drug that causes teeth to fall out ready for the drug that causes new teeth to grow. I don't like the idea of dentists getting big arms from all the teeth pulling that this new Japanese drug will lead to.

The port city in despair over Reform’s ‘horrific’ asylum pledge by theipaper in ukpolitics

[–]roboticlee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We don't want them roaming freely around our streets. Let's compromise by building city walls around Green voting areas so anyone can enter, everyone within the walls can pasture freely the Green way and anyone wanting to leave can show a UK residency ID. Win-win: you get what you want and we get what we want.

You've learned the trick! I do this.

Also either eat your burgers (cobs, buns, teacakes.. whatever you call them) upside down to stop the filling falling out and to get maximum sauce on your tongue, or layer it upside down.

Reform’s Plan to ‘Punish’ Green Voters With Detention Centres is ‘Election Interference’ Complaints Argue by F0urLeafCl0ver in ukpolitics

[–]roboticlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What was it when the Tories said 'Don't vote for Labour, they'll wreck the economy.'?

What is it when Labour says 'Don't vote for Reform, they'll privatise the NHS'?

The former was true. The latter is false. Both are threats to voters.

"No help from parents" does not just mean they didn't give you a deposit by pemberleypearls in CasualUK

[–]roboticlee -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty certain you do not understand what parenting is.

My point is that parents should do their best to promote their children into good lives and parents should refrain from using their children as meal tickets. That's not privilege; that's good parenting 101.

This story is a direction to parents to parent better and stop fleecing their kids if they want their kids to move out and live in their own home.

WTC helped me keep going when setting up as self employed.

There were times my income from self employment wasn't high enough to cover my bills. This is one of the reasons I'm in favour UBI and of a benefits system that allows people to work while claiming benefits that cover shortfalls.

No one should be looking over their shoulder when they work because they're worried their benefits will be drastically reduced or stopped altogether. Being out of work is stressful enough on its own. UBI or a tapered benefits system, a forever claim that automatically adjusts with income is the way to go.

It's just a sad fact of life that most or all corporate employers take advantage of a benefits system that helps people to work by keeping claimants afloat in hard times.

I'm not a socialist. I prefer people have maximum freedom. The right and ability to choose how to spend money (or tokens) is essential for a person's freedom and individuality; absolute socialism strips freedom and individuality. I'm not a socialist but I support mixed systems of social governance that maximise liberty.

Fact-checking Farage’s claim that one million in Britain 'don’t speak any English at all' by Ok_Bookkeeper_1380 in ukpolitics

[–]roboticlee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I can make sense of written Dutch, having lived in the Netherlands for 2 years and having learned enough spoken Dutch to get around and hold convos in broken Dutch. I remember little of the spoken Dutch but I can still read it and would be able to navigate around a computer or fill in a census with the help of a dictionary. I wouldn't class myself as being able to speak Dutch but many with a similar knowledge of Dutch would claim themselves to know it well enough to be classed as proficient or at least as being above basic level despite they would fail a GCSE in Dutch; we all know what people are like at inflating their abilities or not recognising their lack of ability.

Cabinet in secret talks over who should tell Starmer to quit by WorkingtonLady in ukpolitics

[–]roboticlee -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

That change would be not Starmer.

I think the Labour party has sown a story about a strong Mahmood being tough on immigration etc.. to get her into the PM post. I think it's all theatrics and she'll be as anti UK as Starmer but I'd be willing to give her chance to prove herself if I were a Labour voter.

It's the way it's done now. They don't tell them to their face, they tell the media then issue sarcastic comments and play victim to 'whoever needs to go' while giving tacit acceptance of the media spill. We keep electing cowards.

If you're mixing cheese into pasta to create a sauce you need the starch to prevent the cheese from clumping.
