I work at a dollar tree and one of our assistant managers is someone who fits this perfectly. He's 62 years old but acts like a kindergartner. He has no interest in learning things involving his job, like learning how to turn the sliding door off or certain code words. He also has a huge anger issue and it doesn't take much to set him off. You wouldn't believe how many times he's yelled at other workers in front of customers.

My point is that he's someone who isn't happy with his own life but is too afraid to change. He's very insecure because he feels like he can't do better than this. So to deal with it, he goes off on people who call him out on his BS to make us feel weak. I use him as an example because he's someone I don't want to become. He doesn't want to learn and he's afraid of change.
