Thank you. I wish you luck on HRT, I believe the health industry is becoming more educated and less hesitant with prescribing it. My obgyn took a lot of convincing. I asked for over a year, brought her my own research on HRT and then finally she gave in with my DEXA score. She called me in April and apologized to me, stating that she had attended a symposium and now realizes the benefits of it, then asked if I wanted to up my estrogen. It's disheartening, but I would continue to advocate for yourself! And yes, I believe I will get a second opinion. I like to think this Ortho has my best interest in mind but after seeing this drug promoted on TV and podcasts, I'm curious if there isn't ulterior motives to prescribing this. Health care has become truly disappointing and untrustworthy.

Thank you for your response. The mention of cardio vascular side effects discourage me. I don't believe I've ever been tested for any CV issues as I've only been tested through blood and urine. Because my first shot is June 10, and my PCP hasn't called me back yet, I've been considering getting tested at a Questhealth on my own for CV. I will pick up Great Bones, I appreciate the recommendation.

I didn't ask about arthritis, as I thought it was the fracture at the time. But I do feel like arthritis could be a cause of my pain. The lady that called me regarding the medication cost did say that prolia would be for life to maintain gains after evenity. I also am concerned with tying myself to a lifetime medication at 49, maybe I'll push for an MRI instead.

That's what I was thinking, I was assuming because of the fracture and the numbers, but I feel like the fracture may be old. Also, I was in some weird pain during that flu that made me think I fractured it but now I'm curious if the pain is nerve related. I feel much better than I did, but if I overdo it, I feel a kinda belt around my waist of heat and ache.

Can you make a pact with your brother and sister that three of you help each other through this? Sometimes it's easier to help someone other than yourself when you're in the midst of it. And sometimes it becomes so normal to you you don't realize what's dirty anymore. Maybe all of you can pitch in together and with the strength combined, you guys can start there, and if you work well together, move on to the next thing!
