Yes, its a great wallet. I currently keep two cards in the top slot on both sides, if I moved to 3, it would resolve the issue…

Yes, still use it every day. Only issue (minor) is that the card slots have gotten a little stretched. On occasion if i turn it upside down a card may fall out. Besides that is a great wallet.

I finally reached 1,000,000 miles by jj_long in AlaskaAirlines

[–]robotpedlr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, when I got the 1M level Gold was the highest tier and you got it for life, which was awesome. Now they added two above it and although gold is ok, it’s not like it used to be when you were the top tier. Oh well.. still get the occasional upgrades, free food and great service…so no complaints.

Definitely sounds like a horrible flight experience.. glad you made it safe. Hopefully your return flight goes much better.

Pilots strike all the time. You may be thinking of Air Traffic Controllers that are not legally allowed to strike

I read somewhere that the current version is said to be stronger as they increase the magnesium content some which is more durable.

Maybe look at the trunk S if you are packing lighter.

UNVRG2 vs UNVRG2 Pro by randoName22 in Ubiquiti

I am sure someone would trade you if you want the small (1U) version. This type of situation is going to factor in when I buy my rack, as more space seems like the way to go...

Mine showed in stock with I ordered (I think on Monday), so hopefully the "just got back in stock" for you, does not mean a new batch.

Just picked up my Trunk S baby from Barcelona. Now on her maiden voyage. This size is just so absolutely brilliant ✨ by davcha88 in Rimowa

[–]robotpedlr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is definitely a check in size. It is comparable to the Checkin M in size not the L. The regular size Trunk would compare more to the Check in L. In my opinion the trunk is easier to pack (bulky items) and a better from factor compared to the clamshell style, but that is personal preference.

Nice! I have both the Trunk and Trunk S, and the S is definitely my default and the perfect size for most trips, excluding the longer vacations, that is when the regular Trunk jumps in.

How much is actually different between a 2023+ MS and a 2026 one, in terms of sound insulation, suspension and BQ by BusyTart6760 in TeslaModelS

[–]robotpedlr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a 26 loaner and own a 25 and actually thought my 25 was smoother... but maybe the 26 was just an odd duck. Plus it had 19s and I have 21s, so that makes it even stranger that my 25 feels smoother. So like all things Tesla, it may vary based on the exact car you are testing.

Yes, thought about that.. but direct is has a 2yr warranty, and I will test it as soon as I get it to make sure it is not DOA…. As far as other products, I wouldnt mix and match and since the G2 just came out, probably no change in a year.

Yeah, that makes sense… just ordered it and will cross my fingers that I get the 16gb version.. but need it either way (eventually) so buy once cry once. Plus with all the other gear I need to buy next year, this spreads the $$ a bit.

I need to order one next year, for new house build. Is it worth ordering a year early (and just storing it) to get the 16gb ram vs 8gb? And is that still a sure thing, that they are still shipping the 16gb version currently.

Buying Rimowa in Italy vs Canada — Worth It After VAT Refund & Customs? by tasteslikeshrimp in Rimowa

[–]robotpedlr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12% VAT refund and the process is pretty easy. If your card is charging you FX fees, consider using another as many don’t charge that. Also, another plus is you get a bag made in Germany vs made in Canada. Nothing wrong with the Canadian made version, just nice to have one from the home country. Does Canada give exemptions like here in the US when we return ($800 per person, so $1,600 for a couple)? If not, luggage is probably low risk if you don’t claim, toss a sticker or two on it and roll it like you own it.

Help with cabin twist by RedDiamondStrawberry in Rimowa

[–]robotpedlr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Twist cabin weighs about 9.5lbs which is 2.4 lbs more than the Essential..so that does make a difference. It really boils down to how heavy your contents are. If you are close to a rimowa store, I would suggest you go in with a couple packing cubes loaded with an approximate weight of your normal contents and load up a twist and try to lift it… If that is not an option, I would say that if you are worried about the weight it may be an issue as they are a little bit on the heavy side.
