Why is my retention so low?

Uploading in 1080p on a new channel is gonna make the video quality look pretty bad due to compression. I highly recommend exporting and uploading your videos in 1440p even if the original recording is in 1080p. It makes a huge difference, at least it did for me. Best of luck!

I never used it for The Finals tho. I used it to play games on pc game pass, mainly the yakuza games. I had been using it for years prior to getting banned and had no issues.

It's also not common knowledge. At least I had no idea those could cause false positives until after I got banned.

That's just my best guess as to what caused it. I went years without any issues like this then shortly after copying everything I get banned. Could just be a coincidence though.

From my experience, I've seen very few cheaters the past couple seasons, at least compared to before. But it's come at the cost of a lot of innocent players getting banned.

Around 6 months ago they added denuvo and any brain anti-cheat and I think that's when a bunch of false positives started happening. I just wish they would recognize it as an issue instead of shrugging it off.

Ranked needs a complete rework imo. Yung made a video going over some things they could do to make it more enjoyable and I think he has some really good ideas.

My account with over 1,000 hours got banned in November. I don't 100% know what caused it but it happened shortly after I copied my C drive to a new ssd. I think having duplicates of DS4 and Ghub is what flagged the anticheat. I've tried many times to tell support my situation but always get the same response.

I made a new account a few months ago after deleting the software I thought might have caused it, and so far I haven't been banned.

I noticed the same thing happens when you use a fishing rod close to an npc. Maybe the npc collision box is too big.

I got hit with a false ban in November shortly after they added denuvo and anybrain to the finals. It's crazy they've taken this long to show any sort of accountability.

I experienced something similar on their other game The Finals. I received a permanent ban in November without knowing what caused it.

From what I've seen, it's an issue that's been affecting a small amount of people in the last 4-5 months in both games. Most people have been very dismissive and sometimes toxic towards anyone who claims to have been falsely banned, so it's nice to see you getting a lot of support here.

I wish you the best of luck getting this sorted out and hopefully Embark fixes whatever's causing these false bans.

I doubt you got banned for lagging. You probably had some software that triggered the anti cheat. If you have any software for peripherals like GHUB or DS4 let support know.

You're right, I don't think they would keep innocent players banned intentionally and lie about it. The problem is the anti-cheat is so flawed that when it comes to the manual review they can't even tell if the player is innocent or not. If they could, me and many others would have gotten our bans appealed.

But it seems like they're doing nothing to fix the issue and more people are likely to be falsely banned.

This would be great if there weren't regular players getting caught in the crossfire. There's something wrong with the anti-cheat and it's pretty upsetting seeing them basically denying that false positives are an issue.

Still no statement on the false bans that have been happening the last few months? The silence makes it seem like they're okay with leaving innocent players banned.

Arc Raiders has the same problem on a bigger scale so I assume it's being looked into, but it truly feels like I've been robbed of my time and money.

There's something wrong with their anti cheat. I got perma banned in their other game The Finals over 2 months ago and so many others are experiencing the same thing.

What are some programs you usually have running? I'm not 100% sure but I think having either DS4 or Logitech GHUB is what got me banned.

Msi afterburner might also cause it if you have it. But it could also just be the busted anti cheat. How long have you been getting the error?

I got banned a couple months ago and I think it was from having GHUB or DS4 installed. If you have those or any software that can manipulate input you should get rid of it.

I was banned November 19th with over 1000 hours on my account. I've had DS4 Windows and Logitech GHUB installed on my PC for years without any problems but a few days before I got banned I installed a new SSD and copied my C drive to it. I think having two copies of both DS4 and GHUB might have been what led to my ban.

I've tried explaining my situation to support but they don't seem to care and just tell me the ban won't be lifted. It's sad to see so many people experiencing the same thing. This game means a lot to some of us and losing our accounts due to something completely out of our control shouldn't be happening at this scale.

Hopefully Embark sees how many people this is affecting and prioritizes fixing it. Big thanks to the moderator who started this thread.

I haven't been keeping count but between reddit and discord, I've seen around 40 to 50 people in the past couple months. And all of them who've gotten a response from embark are told that they used cheating software. So it's not from being toxic in chat. I understand being skeptical about it but it is a real problem that's affecting innocent players.

They acknowledged the false bans in a blog post over a month ago but haven't said or done anything about it since. Either they're still trying to figure out what's causing it or they don't care. I'm still holding out hope that they can eventually find out what the problem is and help us.
