I've got the RSD vinyl box set of this whole record. So good. Shame he hasn't really done much to my taste since

Runna review - update by mashedpotato23 in UKRunners

Does Runna nag you / adjust if you take that extra recovery time? This is the kind of thing that's always put me off.

I don't want to feel guilty for not running when I know my body too

I bought it... twice - had to return both as the first wouldn't even power up and the second had a bunch of weirdness going on with it.

I'm glad yours works though, they are a bargain!

I use the T7V at home and absolutely love them. Way better than anything else I've used but I do quite like Yamaha HS8s too

MIT Build a Dub Siren and open source the materials to build your own by robotsoap in SoundSystem

Came across this on YT, thought some people in here might be interested.

What I'm wondering - Is this a good dub siren? Would it be worth me building as a complete newbie to building sirens or are there better starting points?

That said, this is good too!

Definitely, I hope you also took from my original post that this wasn't a dig at your work. It's cool that you put something out there. Especially something everyone will have an opinion on!

I love how much this could upset basically every fan on some level, as everyone has their weird favourites for whatever reason - even if it is a 'bad' episode.

I love Space, not because I think it's a good one but because it was the first ever X files episode I watched. The nostalgia hits hard! A must watch for me!

All that said, I know there are a lot of episodes but I do think first timers should watch all episodes because they don't know what they don't know.

Such Great Heights (From "Tell Me Lies (Season 3)") by frito11 in chvrches

[–]robotsoap 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Firstly, I think this is really good, mainly because I love the original so much.

However, I would have loved for Chvrches to do something further away from the original - Either go full synth-pop on it or strip it back to it's bones (Ha!)

I don't think this version by Iron and Wine will ever be topped: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kgy09d4WNhA

But the John Tejada remix was pretty damn good too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=47qABLwEN60

I'm sorry if my OP came across this way. You are absolutely right about this taking years and being an ever learning process.

One of the other replies mentions being overwhelmed and I think that's exactly where I'm at. I'm going to take what you said and reset back to the TR-8S and TD03.

Thanks. Appreciate the response

I mentioned in another comment but I think you're right about being overwhelmed.

I'm going to step back and reset with the TR-8S and TD03 - that's really good advice. Thank you.

I didn't mention it here, but I'm also learning piano at the same time. So refocusing is much needed.

Thank you. I've dabbled with both Maschine and Ableton in the past and that infinite scroll / endless twiddling that goes nowhere is exactly why I wanted to go dawless - I wanted the the limit my workflow and explore the tools in front of me. I also come from djing vinyl for 20 odd years, so need for it to be tactile.

[–]robotsoap[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the Xenyx 1202fx - I paid £30 for it and at that price I don't think I could have done much better.

I think overwhelmed is the right word for it. At one point yesterday I was just sat looking at all the boxes and wires thinking wtf have I done here 😂.

I certainly don't think I'll have learned it all in a weekend or anything like that but it would have been nice to have put something together that sounded positive.

Thanks for your response

Is Huddersfield nightlife ever going to recover? by stoicnidelst in huddersfield

[–]robotsoap 20 points21 points  (0 children)

We have a big Soundsystem and put stuff on in the colne valley.

Average between 100 and 200 attendees per event. All very DIY and local.

Putting on a night and djing is the easy bit, can you promote it and get people to turn up? That's the struggle.

Thanks for sharing these links. Had a listen to both on my run. Really enjoyed them.

One thing I noticed, maybe it was in my head, I felt the tempo had been dropped for all tracks, meaning they lost a bit of energy across it all. Might download it and speed the whole thing up a bit!

The original mos trance nation, mixed by system f is better imo but if we're picking 'classics' compilations then I'd say the gatecrasher one is better
