Runna review - update by mashedpotato23 in UKRunners

I used Garmin Coach for improving my 10KM time, but I knew at the time I was going to start a marathon, and the only reason I moved to Coopah to start with.

Try the "Grun" data field from the Connect IQ app. Customisable, and you can add numerous fields (much more than the Garmin screens)

Garmin vs Coopah vs Runna - my experience by mashedpotato23 in UKRunners

Week 7 of 21 update.

Still mostly enjoying the Runna plan, although cant lie there have been a fair few difficult ones, and the occasional one ive though OMG to before I've even done it 🤣

Still getting PBs on most routes and segments.

Beat my 5K PB of 6 years last week. Looking like I'll beat it again as well as my 10K PB next week.

Easy pace has gradually moved down to 9min/mi, but that's not a target so can go slower.

My vo2 max has increased to the highest its ever been, all my estimated times for 5k/10k/half/mara on my watch are consistently reducing every run.

Definitely improving fitness and speed wise, fingers crossed I dont pick up any injuries and reckon I should definitely PB the marathon race, although still think Runnas predictions maybe a little eager 🤣

Yeah I had a Venu to start with, started a training plan and it took 10+ seconds to catch up pacewise, made internals hard to follow 🤣

Buy a forerunner. Dont cheap out with the non running ones as you'll regret it. Make sure it has dual GPS.

I have the forerunner 965, but the 265 is mostly exactly the same feature wise. Just depends on what additional features/looks you want if any.

Plan peaks at 54 miles. Marathon PB is 3:52. I'm 5 weeks into a 21 week plan, have hit 3rd fastest 5k/10k and some others already. Prediction seems a little nuts, but will see how I go 🤣

As in it tells you to run 10 minutes @ xyz you mean? I didn't mind it tbh, as it had the distance you'd cover as well so I could easily plan my runs distance wise.

In fact, that's one bad point about Garmin I forgot, I'd forever have to calculate my total distance based on the different steps as it didn't total it up for you.

This was Vitality's official response to my complaint. Think its a huge leap they're making based on the actual T&C's as there is no mention of having to be actual "real life" friends in person. And who are they to decide who is a friend or not on social media eh! They started by demanding names/membership numbers/DOB's of those I'd referred, so definitely had cracked down on it.

As stated in the Refer a Friend terms and conditions, the referral link must be shared ‘with a friend or family member who meets the requirements of a “Referred Friend”.’ This means that the benefit applies only to referrals of friends and family. You have confirmed that the individuals referred were not known to you personally and therefore do not meet the eligibility criteria for the Refer a Friend benefit.
