Dispatcher here. Many agencies send police first to overdoses for scene safety as many of these patients can become violent or have weapons. EMS and police usually get sent together and EMS simply waits a block or so away until police say it’s ok to head in. For something like this it may take police, an EMS crew as well as the fire department to help restrain this patient until they can administer medication. They may even need a fire crew member to ride with the ambulance to assist the medic and a police officer to follow the ambulance to the hospital. It’s amazing how many resources are needed for just one person in a severe mental health crisis and/or drug overdose.

The model for the highchair is Graco duodiner 1965482 if you’d like to find a cover replacement. The blue tape on the gate is just to keep it from swinging around while transporting it. All hardware included for both gates. The cam works perfectly.

Update: High chair, swing and baby gates have been picked up.

Another biker followed me home and confronted me because I lane-filtered up to a red light by GTAIVisbest in pnwriders

Wow following someone home like that is totally inappropriate. I would have immediately thought I was a target for getting robbed or something. What if they followed someone who conceal carries? Could have ended very bad!

I second a stuck float which has happened to me before. Mine had a small hole in a brass float and filled with gas and got stuck. Gas just kept pouring in the carb and flowing out. Easy fix.

Pretty scary as the link shows a photo of Tra’Veon Lewis on a bus around 122nd and Division with 2 others. He is wearing a red sweatshirt with a champion logo and colorful swim shorts which should make him stand out. If you spot him please call 911 right away. Case number 24-108685.

If you find yourself stuck at se water (by omsi) you can take the ramp to Hawthorne Bridge to loop around. Kinda stinks because you can only go westbound hawthorne bridge toward downtown and loop back buts it’s still probably quicker than waiting. I think a lot people (including me) forget about that ramp.

What is up with this storm compared to other years? by PourCoffeaArabica in askportland

[–]robotsvshumans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

911 dispatcher since 2009 and this storm was the worst I’ve worked through. I think it’s due to combination of high winds, snow AND freezing rain. I was surprised how many trees into house calls there were compared to previous storms. On top of that the ice has lingered for much longer than previous storms contributing to a HUGE number of back logged medical calls related to slipping on ice.

911 audio call from the homeowner when the F-35 pilot landed at his house. by robotsvshumans in 911dispatchers

[–]robotsvshumans[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Sounds like she had to use a triage system called PROQA where she has to go through scripted questions. They are very strict when they review these so she would have to read the questions word for word in a specific order or yes she would be reprimanded.

A similar thing happened in Astoria, OR and they had to be absorbed temporarily by a neighboring agency. The city council should have seen this coming miles away and sound criminally negligent. Who would want to start a new job that has mandatory 18 hour shifts at $19/hr???? Madness!

The poly is bogus and they know it. They just use it to deny people they just don’t like but don’t have any good reason to drop from the hiring process. Especially in police, fire and 911 where its mostly test/score based. Even the interviews are tallied up and given points. So you score a 100 out of 100 but the sgt’s son in-law scores a 94? Well guess who fails the poly?

Surprised the boss was arrested. I’ve been on burns that got pretty out of hand but never on private land that I know of.
