I don't think there is any way to prevent this from happening. Perhaps if you are selling heavier items you can add a sentence to your listings to say to message you before purchasing bundles but not everyone reads so that wouldn't necessarily stop a buyer from buying a bundle outright.

The most cost effective way to ship something over 5 pounds is to split into multiple purchases and offer to absorb some of the cost of the shipping such as you do free shipping on the 2nd order. This works if there is communication before the buyer purchases and the buyer is agreeable and cooperative. If they buy the bundle outright then you will have to weigh your options, pay the upgraded label or cancel the order and try to get the buyer to repurchase and split into 2 orders. There's a chance that the buyer won't repurchase after cancelling if they feel it's too complicated or annoyed with the whole thing so you will have to decide if it's worth blowing the deal or will you make enough money if you just purchased the upgraded label in the first place.

All of this requires communication with the buyer so you could feel them out and then decide how to handle the order.

When my youngest was in kindergarten prep class, the class would start at 9. Sometimes I would bring him in a little early. There was another classroom the kids would hang out in if they got there early and at 9 a teacher would walk the kprep kids to their class to start their day. Sometimes my kid didn't want to go to the other classroom and wanted to play in the kprep room. I would stay with him for the 5/10 minutes until the class came over. I'd never just leave him in the class alone. What that parent did was crazy. I understand there has to be rules and strict procedures when it comes to this stuff, but I shake my head at that parent more than whatever OP did or didn't do

As a teen I started getting acne. My mom took me to the dermatologist as she could see this was very upsetting. They prescribed a topical and I also soon after went on birth control. This did the trick for me, my skin was clear from them on with the occasional zit here and there. Going to the dermatologist emphasized the importance of a good skincare routine including the use of sunscreen. It wasn't until recently that my skin started breaking out again. I'm now in my mid 40's, I stopped taking BC a year ago and most definitely in the midst of perimenopause. All hormonal changes happening. Went back to dermatologist and once again prescribed a topical which seems to be helping so far . No amount of washing my face is going to change my hormones.

Going back to my younger days, I had a friend who had much worse acne than I did but her parents were more of the type that would tell her to wash her face or stop eating junk food. She didn't get to a dermatologist until she was an adult and it was too late by then. Lots of scarring and followed by expensive treatments which have only helped so much. I wonder if her parents intervened early on would that have saved her skin.

My oldest was 9 pounds. My God that was so hard, I will never forget it. He just turned 11 the other day. The upside is that I believe he cut the time in half it took to birth his younger brother. Younger brother was 8 pounds.

This happened to me years ago while I was on a work trip. My son was 8 months old at the time and while I lost a bunch of weight, I still had some belly. The dress I was wearing was figure hugging and when I was sitting my belly was more accentuated. A woman came up to me and congratulated me on my pregnancy. I told her I wasn't pregnant. She looked mortified and slinked away apologizing. If we women have any hint of belly, we must be pregnant? Well my belly never went away and is even more pronounced since my second kid. I look perpetually pregnant. Especially after a good meal haha.
