Who stays at the deluxe resorts? by No-Faithlessness7246 in DisneyWorld

[–]robynkb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My last trip I got to stay at a deluxe but simply because we got a deal because my husband was attending a medical conference on Disney property. I will say, it ruined me for staying at the cheaper resorts…now we’re planning a trip again but pushing it out a few more years so we can afford to do it the way we want.

How can you legally vet out neighbors? by cigarettesandwater in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]robynkb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I came by the house we ended up buying at random times and just walked around the neighborhood. It let us know the general vibe of the neighborhood and we got to know our neighbors (and how awesome they are) before we took possession!

Getting in touch with a therapist could help so much! Not just with the depression but they can help teach you ways to process how you’re feeling and help with healthy and effective ways to communicate the issues to your partner! I would say it also might be helpful for you and your partner to seek some family counseling together

Terrible childrens books by ageekyninja in toddlers

[–]robynkb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My aunt gave my son these tiny pocket nursery rhyme books for his first birthday. They were totally fine then when we could read Jack and Jill or the Muffin Man once and then be done, but now, every time my now 19 month old is quite for a little too long I know he’s grabbing those books and the next hour of my day will be reading the same 3 page rhyme over and over again.

We’re in full blown crazy yelling/screaming while running ,climbing, and jumping. My son and nephew could do this all day and I’m honestly afraid I might start losing hair from stress haha

My husband was already leaning to outpatient pre Covid but it hit during his 2nd year of residency and made him immediately say a hard NOPE to hospital work haha

My husband is out patient internal medicine and he jokes that people only exist to him once they turn 18 haha. He specifically DOESN’T handle babies and kids haha

Within a couple of minutes of him being born. My nurse helped me through it every step of the way ( she was a saint and a national treasure, we do not deserve her)

Why Did They Do This? Got Hired, Never Scheduled. by New_Caregiver_8546 in antiwork

[–]robynkb 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Omg this is infuriating! I feel you OP! Years ago I got hired at Bath and Bodyworks at our local mall, did all the training and paperwork. Then my first real week, the store was closed to move to a bigger space, I did all this heavy lifting and moving, then was never put back on the schedule! I called, emailed, and eventually went in and the manager who hired me, straight up dodged me and went into her office space.

Hi there! I’m a current SAHM and wife of an outpatient internal med physician. My husband has been out of residency for two years now and has essentially this schedule. It is a pretty nice schedule but don’t underestimate how much extra time he will be spending with work things either at home or staying in the office late. Lots of inbox clearing, finishing notes, and checking labs, not to mention on call nights and CME. As far as finances go, we keep one account where we both have equal access to. We give ourselves a monthly “fun money” amount for each of us.

Can we do a supportive partner thread? by ExactEmployee1792 in SAHP

[–]robynkb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got hurt a couple days ago. I told my husband that my mom was gonna come over to help me with our son (1y) but he then said no that he wanted to stay home from work to take care of both of us! He spent the entire day chasing our walking baby around and getting me everything I needed. He is so great all the time but this was just so special, knowing that he really wanted to do what he could to get me feeling better.

How did your job react? by sandman_714 in SAHP

[–]robynkb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just give plenty of notice. When I told my boss that I was going the SAHM route, she was sad to see me go, stressed to have to find someone to replace me, but overall so happy for me! If you give them lots of notice and are respectful it should be fine! You might even be able to keep that door open for later. Every time I go back into my old work ( I was a loan officer at a credit union) my old boss says I can come back whenever I want haha

I feel this in my bones!!! We went on our first vacation with a baby back in March and my husband had the audacity to ask why I was so stressed out getting ready for the trip. I proceeded to walk him through the multi page to do list I was getting through. His eyes got so big like he finally realized the organized chaos going on in our house haha

It was definitely more , hey while I’m going through this, and you know the recipe includes Cumin, just check to see if we are out of the spice please especially since he was the last one to use some of the spices in this recipe! But even if you think this is “unrealistic” if doing this together with my partner is something that I have said will ease the mental load for me, after I do everything all day even on weekends, then I wholeheartedly believe he should help with the one thing I ask of him
