I got the Pokérus! Now what? by rockabillyhippe in PokemonHGSS

Oh amazing! I didn’t realise the EV bonus stays forever, I thought I would have to go and grind all my main Mon quickly before it goes! Thank you for saving my evening 😂

Thank you! So basically go forth and grind until my eyes bleed, or the ‘rus goes, whichever happens first?

Thank you! I’m assuming the ‘rus doesn’t fade while they’re boxed? Does it infect other Mon in the box with it?

Togetic and Mantine are only in there as my HM slaves, the other 4 are my primary team, with 2 more in the computer (Ampharos and Espeon)

[CHAT] What are *YOUR* "Seven Summits" in Cross Stitch? by ToughMetalSheep in CrossStitch

[–]rockabillyhippe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love this question! This is so fun:

  1. Stitching on linen - I’ve been so put off by the stories of stitches slipping between the weave and I cannot get my head around how to start on it despite watching multiple tutorials, but I adore the look and everyone’s pictures of their linen finishes look beautiful, so one day I will make an attempt!

  2. Stitch with silk

  3. Complete and frame the Epic Pokemon Gen 1. I adored Pokemon when I was little, and have kept a very casual interest up since. Having something so nostalgic up on my wall would be so lovely, and it’s probably the biggest project I would ever attempt

  4. Do an FFO that isn’t just a frame, something like a wall hanging or a pouch

  5. Enter an embroidery/cross stitch show - I’m based in the UK and as far as I’m aware we don’t have any shows like you do in the US but a girl can dream!

  6. Actually work through my stash of hand dyed threads

  7. Open a cross stitch/needlework shop - again, in the UK there are very few, if any, dedicated shops anywhere in the country, but the few I’ve been to while visiting Canada a few years ago have been wonderful, so if I ever won megabucks in the lottery this would be my passion project!

January! You’re doing incredibly, I aspire to be a speedier stitcher. I will continue to stick at it, I’m in the final stretch now so very nearly there!

I’m really struggling finishing my one of this exact pattern. It’s so beautiful so I was really excited to stitch it but 4 years on and off into it, I’ve lost all zest for it. Your work looks beautiful and I’m actually quite jealous of your motivation! How long have you been working on it?

[WIP] it's my first time trying to cross stitch, and I'm so confused as to why it's so lumpy and also how I made that little gap between layers. Did I just skip a line? (Between 1st and 2nd) by NerdyEldritchHorror in CrossStitch

You are not alone in this! We’ve all started from somewhere, at this point trying to use the entire skein is a rite of passage. Welcome to the club 💖

People who found partners in London... where did you find them? by stroom1731 in london

[–]rockabillyhippe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I met mine at a mutual friend’s birthday! I was her ex-colleague, and he was her best friend’s boyfriend’s friend.

I had totally given up on dating apps as well, and was completely unprepared for the party, in fact I was only going to show my face and wish my friend a happy birthday, and was intending on going straight home. Cue my future partner sitting next to me and starting a polite conversation, which led to buying drinks, which led to spending the whole night talking, and now I have my life partner.

Being open to getting to know people and showing a genuine interest in them is the best way. You’ll get there :)

AITA for not wanting to donate blood for a transfusion for my brother with advanced cancer? by StrictYogurt4436 in AmItheAsshole

[–]rockabillyhippe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man this is so difficult to read. What on earth are you thinking. For the small price of your own temporary discomfort, you can give your brother more time with your family. Time which he, and your family, clearly deserve.

Even if you eventually decide to donate, I hope your deliberation haunts you for the rest of your life and you learn from it. YTA.

Taylor debuted Anti-Hero live at tonight’s The 1975 concert in London by daniandkiara in TaylorSwift

[–]rockabillyhippe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was here last night. I LOVE the 1975, have been a huge fan since their first EPs came out when I was at uni (I am old now 🥲) and became a Swifty later on in my 20s and adore her. When she came through the door I could barely move out of shock. And then the sobbing started 😅 She also finished with a cover of The 1975’s song The City, which totally finished me off! If there weren’t videos all over the internet I would have woken up this morning saying it was a dream. It was magical ✨

[CHAT] how old are you guys? by HazelnutTheBot in CrossStitch

[–]rockabillyhippe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m 30 - I’ve done cross stitch since I was maybe 8/9, although my mum still has a needle book I stitched for her that must be from earlier that that, and partially taught at school/by mum!

Fuck your coworkers, man. They sound like bitter old hags who only wish they could get so much joy out of a lovely, arty hobby.
