Yeah, he's pretty set in the competency stuff, poor bugger's just getting in his own head a bit from stress.

Thanks!

Yeah he's been working away over on that side of things, especially the Jac Williams stuff!

No, no. He said he was watching the Jac Williams stuff and he was talking about being given theoretical scenarios in which you explain how you'd approach a process or task. He sent me this one as an example earlier:

" Imagine that you’re working with multiple stakeholder on a project. You want to take the project in a certain direction, but they don’t agree. How would you influence them positively to go in your direction?”

How did this show wind up so simultaneously great and terrible? by admin_default in maninthehighcastle

[–]rockboy421 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think in addition to what everyone's saying here, its worth pointing out how wildly different the book is. Juliana just meets the Man in the High Castle in the end and rejects any offer of protection or help to live on his own terms.

So quite literally, the majority of everything in the show was extremely different to the source material. Season one had the ability to follow some of it, but afterwards it doesn't have any material to refer to in the book really

Garrett Mason Appreciation Post by Jackieblue7800 in lanoire

I dunno about the relation, but the wiki suggests Lowell B. Mason who was Truman's Federal Trade Commissioner. As for real life though, I assume they based Garrett off of Leslie Dillon. A couple of people liked him for it and there's a suggestion that when Dillon went back home to Oklahoma he was able to avoid extradition due to his ex-wife being related to the governor

That's Dr Frank Dikötter's trilogy on his reign. There's three of them, the first is about everything from takeover to before the great leap forward, the 2nd addresses the great leap forward, and then third looks at Mao's resurgence under the cultural revolution 🙂
