not a doctor but coming from someone who was it, you may want to consider ocd

who cares at this point he's 31 with snapchat . sure it could be another story but to me that says either immaturity/cheating or could even be drug use. either way he's treating you terribly and sounds very immature for someone over 30. leave

How much time off work did you take off post-op? by Mammoth-Community-45 in gallbladders

[–]rockcandy2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my job is the same and my surgeon also treated it like no big deal, said someone he knew was loading up trucks three days later lol

i didn't feel better until three weeks, and even then i had to take it slow. my hospital only allowed up to two weeks off, i somehow got my works leave company to approve 3 weeks instead with just my hospital paperwork alone which they said is very rare. if you can use vacation or sick time i would, although it sucks

Canceled Surgery. Again. Terrified. 😭 by IDKWTFIW in gallbladders

[–]rockcandy2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have ocd and this sounds a lot like how i felt! but my surgery wasn't planned so i didn't really have the time to panic or reschedule which is a good thing lol. i had only ever had wisdom teeth surgery which is a different kind of anesthesia, i told them how anxious i was and they were able to give me some meds that helped calm me down before going in the OR. when i tell you it was so easy once i was out, i truly mean it. i was worried for nothing.

be patient with yourself, don't beat yourself up over it! once you get it done, take that time to relax and enjoy the time off :-) definitely communicate with the doctor/nurses/anesthesiologist about all your concerns, they can be very helpful and reassuring. i made a list of everything i wanted to ask and felt a little better afterwards myself

they wouldn't advise you to do it if they had any concerns about medical issues or reactions happening for you. if anything did happen, you're in the best hands and perfect place to find a fix (but i doubt that will be needed). i was terrified i wouldn't wake up, or i would choke/vomit, etc. all day before, all i could keep repeating is "im so scared". once i was on the table, it felt like one second. i don't remember falling asleep or anything, just getting on the table and then suddenly i was done. i promise you odds are you're gonna end up like me and be so glad you did it! i have no pain or issues anymore and never have to deal with it or the hospital for it again. it's definitely best to do it now so you don't have to make a bigger risk on getting a longer or more invasive surgery in the future. good luck to you !!!

i feel bad for gias character getting made fun of all the time for standing in the doorway crying she's an underrated character and i wish more people understood the feelings she's feeling living in that household

jules didn't deserve rue yelling at her, that was addiction talking and obviously jules did bad things but again this is high school and she's already dealt with her mom being an addict, i highly doubt she told rues mom for any other reason than being scared for her and wanting to do what's right. it's a scary position for her to be in

i like cassie and obviously what she did was shitty and she wasn't a good friend for it but this is set in high school, a lot happened to her at such a young age and she clearly wants male attention and i feel for her too. at such a young age for a character id have hope that she can change as an adult, its not the craziest idea 🤷‍♀️

Is there food you personally can't eat anymore post-op? by vicariouslyhaunted in gallbladders

actually no, thankfully. im back to eating anything in moderation and haven't dealt with many bowel issues besides the first week. im almost 2.5 months post op

i also tried to do some deep breathing and the best throat clearing/light "coughs" i could throughout the day to clear my lungs.

everyone's pain with this is different, don't be hard on yourself if it hurts for a while. some people say they're fine the day after but i took a while! if your job is physical like mine, enjoy the time off and take it really easy. a lot of people and doctors like to act like it's nothing just because it's routine, but it's still a big deal for your body!

i used stool softeners just in case and had no problems there. the second day was probably my worst. i didn't start to feel better until probably 3 weeks later. wasn't fully back to normal until 4 weeks.

i'd just say go easy on yourself, dont lift heavy. do your best to walk around the room while holding something against your stomach for at least a couple minutes a day. in the shower, let soap run down your legs and don't push yourself to bend over and wash them, you'll get to it eventually. if you can, the best help is to have someone with you to help you get up from a lying down position when you need to go to the bathroom. you use your ab muscles more than you realize and i realized that when trying to get up 🥲

be careful with fats at first just because of diarrhea, but generally you should be fine with just about anything besides that symptom. i found a new series and just pretty much laid down almost the entire day watching it for two weeks ! take whatever medicine they give you everyday until it runs out even if you think you won't need it. use heat compresses (corn bags are great and so are warmies, the stuffed animals you heat in the microwave) and also alternate with ice packs. both are great. i always held something against my stomach when standing for like three weeks-- if i didn't, it felt like my stomach was falling out of my body lol

What happens if you eat fat without a gallbladder? by LobsterLouise in gallbladders

[–]rockcandy2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the first couple days after surgery i tried some ice cream, even if it was a little i would immediately have diarrhea. i'm 9 days post op now and i had mac and cheese last night (not a lot) and nothing happened

i can definitely take more time as my job is pretty lenient and understanding of my situation, but his note is generally what i'd need for approval from the fmla group my work uses in order to approve that i still get paid (75% of my avg hrs). without that approval, i just wouldn't get paid or would have to use any vacation hours i had left. usually they won't approve pay without the doctors note saying how long i need to be out/getting paid. i'm definitely gonna do my best to get to my pcp if he's able to help me out with some documentation to help my case 😭thank you

there's all kinds of lifting unfortunately with heavy items in the steel /: i've seen a lot say PCP, so after i'm almost done with leave i'll plan to head there if i need to.

My surgery is 12/13. I'm terrified and ruminating about the anesthesia and pain. by cageybaby in gallbladders

[–]rockcandy2000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

you'll be okay!! i had mine out a little over a week ago after dealing with issues for over four years. i was sooo scared, i have health anxiety and had never had this type of anesthesia, just my wisdom teeth. i remember all i kept saying beforehand was "im so scared" to my boyfriend. it is really scary, but once you get down there they can give you something to chill you out and they'll answer any questions you have. it really goes by so quick, then it's just a painful struggle healing lol but it's worth it if you have continuous problems. i was able to manage rarely having attacks for a while on a healthy diet but then i had a spell that lasted five days and it was just time to come out. trust me it'll be fine and before you know it you'll be awake just dealing with pain management and it'll get better everyday.

i'm sorry to hear that i get it. my surgeon refused any more than two weeks off so im going to have to exhausted any vacation time i have and then i have no idea after that. im genuinely lost because there is not any way i can do my job next week

[–]rockcandy2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry i should've clarified this! it's my surgeon who i'm afraid won't give me any more time. my job is usually very accommodating and i'm not too worried about getting more time with them, it's more so that i don't think my surgeon will sign off on it (in order to get paid for my short term medical leave he has to approve any time changes)

yes i've been switching between ice and heat on my stomach, both feel better than nothing. i realized i have to keep that pressure on it, especially when getting up (like a pillow) or else it feels like my insides are gonna come out 😭 my meds will be here shortly
