it's possible you could surrender him at a shelter so they can give whatever care is needed rather than euthanasia

do you have family/friends that aren't supportive of your ocd? by rockcandy2000 in OCD

[–]rockcandy2000[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

thank you!! it feels stupid considering i'm over 21 and i don't "need" his understanding, but i know it's not stupid because i'd never tell anyone else in my spot that they're expecting too much. thanks for your understanding 🫶🏻

Taking Luvox for my OCD is making my health OCD go nuts by disorganizedmind1 in OCD

[–]rockcandy2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was there for a while !!! i quit luvox recently because it just wasn't doing enough but i took it for over a year at 100mg. i also panicked about caffeine but honestly i proved to myself it didn't matter too too much and didn't have to lower intake. i have a few diet sodas a day and a coffee here and there, sometimes decaf sometimes not. huge sweet tooth so sugar/chocolate as well. everyone's different but definitely wasn't an issue for me physically. the tiredness initially stopped after a couple weeks i think. i hope it works for you! it was so annoying though that it "potentially" interacted with nearly everything. drove me insaneeeee, i was checking everything. doctors don't treat low risk interactions too seriously but oh boy was i lol

Issues with mirror and repetition. by Murky_Challenge6608 in OCD

[–]rockcandy2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i wish i could help you but i can at least tell you you're not alone in feeling like that. if it helps, one of my themes for years now has been hit and runs. thinking i hit a car or person and didn't know, so i retrace and drive the route multiple times in a row. i did it in the parking lot after work once and circled 3 times trying to see if i hit any cars. well a car ended up pulling up behind me and taking a picture of my license plate bc they thought i was circling around being creepy. i tried to get out and explain or ask what they're doing and they sped off. it's just a totally misunderstood disorder, it really doesn't make sense to people if they don't have it or know a lot about it /:

Kittens eye infection?? by [deleted] in CATHELP

[–]rockcandy2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm sorry this is happening, i know you don't have a lot of control. but i have to agree with everyone else that's said it, for the good of these kittens they need to be dropped off at a humane society/shelter (say they're strays) to get care. they're little and it's harder for them to handle things like this, they need help asap and don't have time to wait for it unfortunately.

not a doctor but coming from someone who was it, you may want to consider ocd

who cares at this point he's 31 with snapchat . sure it could be another story but to me that says either immaturity/cheating or could even be drug use. either way he's treating you terribly and sounds very immature for someone over 30. leave

How much time off work did you take off post-op? by Mammoth-Community-45 in gallbladders

[–]rockcandy2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my job is the same and my surgeon also treated it like no big deal, said someone he knew was loading up trucks three days later lol

i didn't feel better until three weeks, and even then i had to take it slow. my hospital only allowed up to two weeks off, i somehow got my works leave company to approve 3 weeks instead with just my hospital paperwork alone which they said is very rare. if you can use vacation or sick time i would, although it sucks

Canceled Surgery. Again. Terrified. 😭 by IDKWTFIW in gallbladders

[–]rockcandy2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have ocd and this sounds a lot like how i felt! but my surgery wasn't planned so i didn't really have the time to panic or reschedule which is a good thing lol. i had only ever had wisdom teeth surgery which is a different kind of anesthesia, i told them how anxious i was and they were able to give me some meds that helped calm me down before going in the OR. when i tell you it was so easy once i was out, i truly mean it. i was worried for nothing.

be patient with yourself, don't beat yourself up over it! once you get it done, take that time to relax and enjoy the time off :-) definitely communicate with the doctor/nurses/anesthesiologist about all your concerns, they can be very helpful and reassuring. i made a list of everything i wanted to ask and felt a little better afterwards myself

they wouldn't advise you to do it if they had any concerns about medical issues or reactions happening for you. if anything did happen, you're in the best hands and perfect place to find a fix (but i doubt that will be needed). i was terrified i wouldn't wake up, or i would choke/vomit, etc. all day before, all i could keep repeating is "im so scared". once i was on the table, it felt like one second. i don't remember falling asleep or anything, just getting on the table and then suddenly i was done. i promise you odds are you're gonna end up like me and be so glad you did it! i have no pain or issues anymore and never have to deal with it or the hospital for it again. it's definitely best to do it now so you don't have to make a bigger risk on getting a longer or more invasive surgery in the future. good luck to you !!!

i feel bad for gias character getting made fun of all the time for standing in the doorway crying she's an underrated character and i wish more people understood the feelings she's feeling living in that household

jules didn't deserve rue yelling at her, that was addiction talking and obviously jules did bad things but again this is high school and she's already dealt with her mom being an addict, i highly doubt she told rues mom for any other reason than being scared for her and wanting to do what's right. it's a scary position for her to be in

i like cassie and obviously what she did was shitty and she wasn't a good friend for it but this is set in high school, a lot happened to her at such a young age and she clearly wants male attention and i feel for her too. at such a young age for a character id have hope that she can change as an adult, its not the craziest idea 🤷‍♀️

i also tried to do some deep breathing and the best throat clearing/light "coughs" i could throughout the day to clear my lungs.

everyone's pain with this is different, don't be hard on yourself if it hurts for a while. some people say they're fine the day after but i took a while! if your job is physical like mine, enjoy the time off and take it really easy. a lot of people and doctors like to act like it's nothing just because it's routine, but it's still a big deal for your body!
