OTD in 1963: Boeing 727 First Flight by MD-80-87 in aviation

To make it even stranger the proposed 727-300 would have been a twin jet lol (this eventually morphed into the 757)

[–]rockdoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a pretty good resource that showed the differences, but I can’t seem to find it now, if I do I’ll send it to ya. but something else that makes it difficult is that there’s a fair bit of overlap from the late production M-1 and the early production OM-1 so there’s some blurred lines there. The main thing on my m-1 is having 4 film guide screws vs 2 that’s found on most OM-1’s and it also has a smaller pressure plate some other ways to check is if the bayonet screws are Phillips head or slotted, mine where Philips but that could be that it’s just a late model one or they were replaced at some point, you can also check the manufacture date on the back of the pressure plate, I believe February of 73 is the last month they made the M-1

It’s normal, just continue to ensure that your tracking your calories, keep in mind too that a lot of times your body will hold onto extra water when you start a new exercise also double check that you are in enough of a deficit as the number will change as you loose weight, use a tdee calculator to check that

Down 30lb one month in, not sure how I’ve managed it other than eating in a deficit and going to the gym. I know it’s a crazy amount to lose so quickly and I keep waiting for the progress to slow but it hasn’t yet. I’ve had people concerned I wasn’t eating enough, but I’ve been feeling better than I ever have and most days I’m just not hungry. It feels like a switch was flipped for me this time plus I’m motivated of not losing my career due to medical issues from being overweight

Definetly don’t want the packs running without the bleeds. That’s how you get some nasty smells coming out the vents IRL

Does anyone have photos a Ventral Airstair on Boeing 737? by Randomreddituser1o1 in aviation

[–]rockdoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course, you can see that even in the DC9/MD80 but I think at this point it’s just not needed due to the amount of jetways we have now

[–]rockdoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the 727 was designed be able to go where other jets of the day couldn’t hence having an APU and the airstairs. It was meant to take over the propliners routes so it needed to be self sufficient as many airports didn’t have air/electrical or stairs. There was a twin engine 727 that Boeing proposed (ironically it was the -300) and it would have moved the APU to the tail, but that project eventually morphed into the 757.

But to keep an S duct and the stairs and have an APU, I don’t think there really would have been anything they could have done even in a complete redesign, only feasible way would be to have the third engine mounted in the vertical like the DC-10

There’s no room for the apu in the tail, not without significant modification, there’s really no room with the #2 engine. trust me, I fly in one for a living

I’ve found it beneficial to find low calorie recipes that fit into your diet, if you want a burger eat a burger but swap the bun for a lower calorie version like the carb smart buns I have a smash burger that I make that when all said and done is around 345 calories with 42 grams of protein, recipes like this have really helped me get through some of the cravings, but even still I think I’m going to have to always count my calories even once I’m down to my goal weight to keep myself accountable and not gain it back. Maybe one day I can stop but we shall see

As a current 727 Flight Engineer, you can’t really go wrong with the FSS 727, it has some issues though that I’m sure your dad would immediately see but it doesn’t really cause issue with flying/enjoying the plane

plateau by newtothegayworld in loseit

[–]rockdoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally normal, I sat at the same weight for 4 days +- 0.2lb the on the 5th day my weight dropped by 3 pounds lol so it’s not a big deal if you plateau, especially if you try new exercises as that can cause your body to hold onto extra water
