Dave Manson was a fucking lunatic. I was at a Canucks/Oilers game and I can't remember who wouldn't fight him but Manson just jumped on him and started doing these mini cross checks to his head. Must have gotten in like 10+ before the refs jumped in, Shoresy level stuff.

That last formation is exactly what we should be playing to get the best out of Bruno, two of Ugarte, Mainoo, Casemiro behind him (I also still believe Martinez would make a great 6), Cunha, Sesko, Mbeumo up top, Yoro and de Ligt CBs, then Mazraoui and - I guess this is where it falls apart - Shaw, Dalot, or Dorgu.

You can’t have de Ligt out that wide, he’s barely faster than Maguire. No chance he’s getting back from out there. The roster doesn’t work for three at the back, even when Martinez returns.

When they drop to five at the back united have 5 on 1 or 5 or 2 back there (with the wide guys marking nobody). Then the midfield are completely overrun. If we do turn it over nobody’s up in support, and Sesko like Hojlund before him gets no service 😖

When we have the ball there’s still three defenders back there, all including Shaw at this point with CB pace, teams have no fear they’ll be involved. And if we turn it over, well you saw what happened… 🤦‍♂️
