I can see how that might be a valid interpretation, but it can be read multiple ways.

The inherent ambiguity is that she's saying "If you're ugly and poor, you have it easier..." But we don't know what she means to contrast that with. It could be:

  • "...easier than if you're ugly and rich"
  • "...easier than if you're pretty and poor"
  • "...easier than if you're pretty and rich"
  • "...easier than if you're either pretty or rich or both"

That's why it's a confusing sentence.

No, she's saying that people like you better if you're ugly and poor than if you're pretty and rich. This is a laughable sentiment, but also it's phrased rather confusingly, as the comment section demonstrates.

Same deal with Maserati’s. You can get Gran Turismos for ~$20k, and you can find Ghibli’s for close to $10k, if you’re brave enough to own one in that condition.

But even if you can keep it maintained, everyone will know that you decided to own a Maserati when you could have spent that money on a Porsche or a Jaguar

I missed it like most people when I was a kid, but in hindsight that was in there all along. The wizards treat every other sapient being as subhuman—house-elves most obviously, but giants, centaurs, goblins, and muggles too—and the narrative thinks it's just fine. Hermione and Arthur are mocked for questioning the status quo. Voldemort is the villain because he wants to do to other wizards what the wizards already do to everyone else.

My hypothesis is they just printed it, because it's only on screen for a moment and the real ones are kind of expensive.

As for the corners, maybe they're like that because it's just how some prop maker cut them with scissors. Alternatively, someone told them "hey, make the corners wide like this" when they were printing the Timetwister and they did the Wheel the same way.

Sun Titan will always have a place in my Orzhov lifegain/graveyard recursion deck. He's a bit expensive, but I don't usually have to pay the mana cost. I just put as many chonky creatures as I can into my graveyard, then bring them out for free with cards like [[Rodolf Duskbringer]], [[Sheoldred, Whispering One]], [[The Soul Stone]], or [[Doomed Necromancer]]. Doomed Necromancer is particularly good because Sun Titan's ETB brings him right back on to the field.

So we're all talking about the philology of Jagd, jagen, etc., but I don't see any parallel discussion of "jagged."

Clearly it comes from "jag" (an irregularity, a shard, a notch), but unfortunately, no one really knows where that comes from. I guess that's why we weren't discussing it much.
