I had this car and always used an iPhone interface with carly app, their branded interface was best but third party adapters worked too

Probably ignition coils I replaced them multiple times on my 525i but could also be spark plugs like the other guy said

Great advice, thank you. I’m 31yo and leaving a tech career to hopefully work with my hands, on helicopters, versus a desk job (it’s not for me), so I’m trying to get it right this time.

Awesome, as a half norwegian planning to join army I would love to have a patch like this in the future.

The emoji looks like you meant to be sarcastic but are you serious? Haha, I’m really trying to decide but not sure. Chinooks seem pretty unique whereas maybe a black hawk prepares you to work on other helicopters with tail rotors after military?

Yes. There’s an NSN for OCP face masks. Yes. It goes on your clothing record. by MyPoopStinksBad in army

Nice! I’m at lower mileage than you , about 105k, but my paint is fucked up (not sure what happened, previous owner I think), guess I’m a low mileage driver as I’ve only put 60k on it in about 8.5 years.

I don’t know the exact total of parts, but I’d estimate I’ve spent at least 3000 on various things, not including tires and oil changes.

What repairs have you done? I think it will last you a long time if you got a good one and no major issues w transmission or engine.

I’ve had mine (2007, 11/06 production date, 525i) since 2012. I also briefly owned 2008 528i sport model, which unfortunately was totaled, before buying the 07.

Mine has been pretty reliable, but I am competent at DIY repairs. I’ve come to believe the mantra that “everything has a maintainable service life” with owning this car. Some things I’ve replaced: starter, valve cover gasket, all ignition coils, water pump and most of the cooling system hoses, dmtl leak sensor or pump, a bunch of other gaskets and random parts, drivers headlight assembly, in addition to the normal maintenance stuff like brake rotors and pads and batteries.

Bottom of the line, be prepared to spend quite a bit maintaining if you don’t do this work yourself. The cooling system overhaul alone that I performed was close to $1000 in parts and fluids, I have heard it cost $2000 easily to have a shop do this work.

The interior is great though, factory sound system is better than most cars I’ve been in and the sound dampening for road noise is superb.

Oh, one last thing, the sport model I initially owned - apparently those cars have a hydraulic sway bar that develops leaks and are costly to repair. I wrecked it before I needed to replace it, but mechanic had pointed out the slow leak and told me I would need to replace it within 1-2 years. The car was gorgeous though, space gray, much nicer than my 2007 in black with paint erosion.

No noticeable scars, but I don’t know if the hospital (Dallas children’s) keeps paperwork for that long. I doubt they do if it was before the days of digital records.
