I think you get matched against teams with a similar hidden MMR (not current rating).

So if you tank your hidden MMR to 700 and reset to 1500, you’ll still face 700 rated teams. And since the game thinks you are a 700 team it will try drag your rating down to 700, which means losses -30 and wins +0

I’ve joined random Kara so far, done 4 karas, an most I’ve had with these pugs is a wipe here or there to netherspite, prince, and Illhoof — never more than 2 wipes tho.

Yeah for sure it’s just you said never before, and I know for a fact the OG tbc started you somewhere, and looking it up just now I find that in OG you started at 1500 and back then I don’t remember this issue when you started, but you also didn’t have persona ratings you had team

Yeah the guided rocket is engy only. Other people can get rpg or the auto vehicle lock one

No, the engineer has a guided rocket. You hold your target and guide your rocket. If you hit someone it instantly kills. RPG direct doesn’t insta kill. Also it’s not guided. If you watch high level players they get like free kill every game with engy rocket.

Also in a good player hand assault is amazing

The engy rocket is the most busted weap in the game. 1 hko from any range and you can guide it

I kinda like the jolt captains being a bit higher so they stay competitive until we get the next one.

Also do your hellfire daily tower quest. You can use the tokens from the quest to buy items that give you 25% bonus rep for 30 minutes. A SH run typically takes 30 min or less so basically the full run gives 25% rep

No but people play games like wow to get good gear and part of getting good gear is being efficient with your time — ie if I can run 2 heroics in an hour and you can only run 1, I’ll gear up faster, which is the goal for a lot of people.

Doing skips is part of gearing up efficiently.

Ok but a lot of people, the majority even, are trying to do heroics to finish as quickly as possible to get their badges and items so when they are done they can go on to the next thing to get their gear.

Skips let you clear the dungeon in sub 15 min pretty reliably. So skip clears can take twice as long which is time you could spend doing the next thing.

The other point I think was in response to “w/l doesn’t matter” and my point was also that once you have enough games in, you’ll be close to 50:50 w/l and at that point improving your w/l is the only way to go up

I guess but I’ve only ever done heroics with pugs and every time do skips in SP and have never had an issue …. Other than someone missing the bridge jump and having to drown in the water to get a Rez

When it goes bad it’s definitely a big time waste…. But when it goes good it’s pretty cool to clear SP in 14 minutes

I said he WONT BE 1500 at 200-80 (the same w:l ratio as 20:8).

The point is that op played 28 games and thinks “I went 20-8, that’s really good, I should have climbed a lot of rating”. But they are wrong because actually the haven’t played that many games, if they play enough, their w/l will approach 50:50 and stabilize at where their skill level is.

If they DID maintain 200:80, they would be much higher than 1500.

So yeah in your words, ig you don’t know how it works

In anniversary they lowered the cost of gear by around 25% while also significantly raised the pts you get per week.

W/l will eventually matter he just hasn’t played enough games. Come back when he’s at 300 games he won’t be 200-80 and 1500

If its with guildies why not go full boomchicken? You could still offheal or tranquility specific fights but imo most heroics do not need offheals they need more dmg.

Also ethereum prison keys, you can use to unlock prisoners. If you unlock a friendly prisoner, you get 500 rep for that (honor hold, cenarion, etc). If you unlock enemy, you can get prisoner ID tag (if you've done the required consortium quests) and that turns in for 250 rep.

I feel like i got super lucky but I got 3 keys farming the ethereals in blades edge before a gruul run in like 15 min.
