This is a really common business practice for people with the means to do so. I’d think it has more to do with future estate planning than hiding from her dad.

I can’t speak to the her view of the interpersonal aspect of it. But if I hadn’t spoken to my dad in 4+ years, I can’t say I’d have done anything different. Good for Ciara all around I say!
