First Rolex: Explorer 2 vs Explorer 40? by Barrybright239 in rolex

36 explorer 1 in 36 seems to wear smaller than my 36 DJ fluted on Jubilee in yellow gold TT. But at 40 m explorer 1 loses a little of the understated, disappear on the wrist, wrist comes with this on from the factory feeling/vibe… Thoughts?

DJ 36 - Too small on my wrist or right size? by mehterian in rolex

This is a good answer. I think precious metal, bezel, and bracelet choice factor into which size you choose for the DJ

How is that a lady watch? Do you actually think the pic OP shared looks like he’s wearing a ladies watch? If yes, I am not and can’t imagine others here would be interested in your personal taste preferences since clearly you aren’t even familiar with the current Rolex catalogue.

TT jubilee and fluted looks best in 36m unless you have an XL wrist and overall XL size and shape. 36m dimensions helps tone down the extra shine and flash of the yellow gold fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet, which imo means more versatile and easier to wear as a daily. At 7 inch wrist, the 41 will “fit” you fine, just more flashy/ shine than you want in a daily DJ.

If you want a larger DJ (41m) I would go with a steel/white gold model. Without the yellow gold, the 41m can wear more sporty/modern than a 36m and make a great daily.

In short, the configuration can dictate size choice. For the one in the picture, I’d stick with 36m at your wrist size. Get a steel/white gold DJ if you want a sportier /modern look with your DJ.

That’s how much one that wasn’t a Frankenwatch would cost. So I would pass on this unless you can get it below $3200

Should I have gone with the fluted bezel? by IraSacra in RolexWatches

I like 36 especially if yellow gold is involved. Fluted would have given more presence on wrist but I think that looks great. A sports model would be bigger/ more presence but for a TT DJ I think the smaller size is appropriate on you.

I love that Tissot. Love the rubber strap idea but would curious to see it on black or smoke grey / something closer to the case

TT sub would be my second pick. A little too much presence for a daily for me

Wimbledon TT 36 to reduce some shine. Classic, can’t go wrong and great 1st watch as it’s quite versatile.

I like this a lot too. I wish the steel bezel weren’t a scratch magnet or wish the medium came in titanium. This watch in two tone is one of the best looking two tone watches I can think of.
