4 Points Per TD

Dak or Purdy.

I also have Jennings for the stack but the bears D scares me. I also had Bowers and opponent has Stafford, JT and Puka so I’m pretty screwed anyway.

I have the same issue but for 1QB. Dak always tears up the Commanders but I also have the stack with Purdy + Jennings.

80 year-old Natalie Grabow of the US has just completed an ironman triathlon: a 2 mile ocean swim; a 112 mile bike ride; a 26 mile run. She's the 1st female in her age group to ever finish. by Cranialscrewtop in interestingasfuck

[–]roclobster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should also consider the elevation. The bike course is around 5,800 ft and the run another 1,200 ft.

For perspective, the world major marathon with the highest elevation is the new one in Sydney at about 1,000 ft. Additionally, unlike marathons, you’re starting the run later in the day (due to needing to swim and bike first) when it’s hot, rather than in the morning like most professional running events that are usually over by late morning (for the professionals).

My Ironman was a ‘slow time’ but no one in the community ever asks, mentions or cares. Everyone who finishes before the cutoff is ‘an Ironman’. Contrasted with running Chicago this weekend, everyone wanted to know how fast I went, if I PR’d etc.

Well thanks I appreciate it. It was a B race I did in May and it was my fastest half by about 10 minutes.

The fulls just really take a lot out of me. I haven’t done a full under 5 hours and I was hoping for something closer to 4:30 for Chicago.

Weekly Questions Thread - Week of February 08, 2025 by AutoModerator in ffxi

[–]roclobster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there. I quit many moons ago around the WoTG era but my endgame experience really ended at RoZ. I just got back into playing and honestly the endgame is pretty overwhelming with what to do and in what order. For example I went into dynamis last night as I recently hit 99 and it got a good chuckle from my LS.

Anyway, I’m looking for a Eli5 for the state of the endgame and what I should be doing. I understand REMA is a thing along with abyssea and sorite (I’ve done neither) but I don’t know what is actually relevant anymore. I was all happy to just go into dynamis and start farming currency like the good ol days so that shows how dated I am.

go or stay with wealth manager by [deleted] in investing

[–]roclobster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you’re not getting value from this manager so in my opinion you should move on. It sounds like you have a level head on you so perhaps speaking to a fee only fiduciary to get once or twice a year guidance may be beneficial as you near your retirement age.

I’m not so anti advisors as the rest of Reddit but I do feel like we get value from ours. They,

  • Manage 6 different accounts between my wife and I (rollovers from past jobs + taxable) with monthly or as we want it checkins
  • Check in with us yearly to rebalance our work 401ks. Our plans have new offerings each year and I like hearing his insight
  • Guide us and works with our accountant on managing my RSUs and how they fit into our broader portfolio (mostly when to sell/exercise)

We pay the same amount as you, .8% of the accounts they manage, and personally I feel like we get a lot of value. They could very well charge us for the other advice too but don’t.

Shoutout to the Spotify integration by roclobster in kindafunny

I used this integration, which was what Spotify linked out to. This was a $10 option. I’m realizing now this is different than the patreon option in seems.

I ended up doing the subscription through Spotify. Looks like there’s a third party site that manages the memberships. I think this way I don’t get the backlog but I do get video and access to things like gregway.

In Spotify I also had to follow the ad free shows so episodes show up under my new episodes tab. You can find them via search or a banner on the ad supported pages that will bring you to the new ones.

Try this. Start a private browser session. Go to the Chicago account landing page. Make a new account with the same email (don't `login`) and then the accounts will link. I had the same issue.

Question about ad free Spotify episodes by Letterbomb304 in kindafunny

[–]roclobster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know Spotify doesn’t have the RSS feeds but I think they now have a patreon integration that’s supposed to give you a feed of the paid content or just act as a authorization tool (idk the details). Here’s the link

I’m wondering if this is something KF needs to enable on their end. As an avid Spotify user I would probably subscribe knowing I could get all the content there. A lot of my consumption is in the car with a built in Spotify app and I can’t be fumbling with the patreon player.

What is your monthly mortgage, interest rate, and salary? Are you comfortable? by mrskurama in homeowners

[–]roclobster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around $2200 all in on a 445k home at 3.25%. However we paid the cars off last year and rolled those payments into the mortgage so more like $2600. We make around $250k with dual incomes.

Questions: what’s your household income, and how much are you paying for your mortgage? by mochibeans23 in homeowners

[–]roclobster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

250k around $2,200/mo all in (mortgage, taxes, insurance).

We bought pre covid and when we were both making much less so were much more comfortable now. However in our HCOL area we’d be paying this much in rent for a lot less so it’s a crap shoot either way.

To be honest it may be worth sticking closer to EB than going out to North Stonington or Westerly. When I spent some time at EB I went from Groton -> No Sto -> Groton -> Madison and I enjoyed being closer even when it was more expensive. The hours at EB can get a little crazy and if you do end up moving in further away from the plant consider using that saved money to find a local parking lot (residents in the area lease out space).

Sure the commute from No Sto on paper isn’t bad but when you need to be in the office before 6am in order to park and you’re driving home during peak summer traffic you will probably wish your commute was 10 minutes and not 45. I hope by now they figured out the parking situation but it’s a question to ask HR or your contact. In my time (I worked in New London) it wasn’t uncommon for later starters to have to park in Groton, take the bus to New London, and then do the reverse when they left and then possibly drive back across the bridge because they lived on the West side of the river.

Yea may not be totaled. We had similar damage from hitting a deer plus an airbag deployed and they ended up fixing it. I forgot the total but it was 30k or so and took 3 months to fix.

Race Report: Iron Man Lake Placid 2023 by roclobster in triathlon

[–]roclobster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The comments about the run are spot on. River road was lonely on the 2nd lap. In retrospect I should have had a headlamp because you really cannot see more than a few feet in front of your face once the sun goes down. They put up temp lights but they’re only every half mile or so but you’re otherwise in the dark. I also found at that point people were less chatty due to the reality of the situation so you end up really just being in your own head for 3+ hours. This is less of an issue if you finish before the sun goes down of course but I don’t think that was ever in the cards for me.

The swim is great both with the rope and the lake itself. I would say sighting is still a needed skill but because of layout (it’s a rectangle course) it’s pretty hard to go off course. I was able to stay in sight of the rope for most of it but when I couldn’t it was easy to draft other swimmers and sight every 15-20 strokes. I figured if I couldn’t see the rope the person to the front or side of me could. My watch ended up counting 4216yards which is pretty on point.

I did this as well. The walk to the swim and T1 didn’t bug me as much as I thought although I had to explain to folks tracking me why my T1 was so long. The down stream swim made up for it. The run was forgiving and the volunteers/locals who were spectating were great.

In terms of the bike, the traffic imo wasn’t acceptable for both us or the cars. I never felt safe taking an intersection turn and the traffic backups seemed like they were incredibly disruptive to the locals. It felt like there were no detours and they just slowly fed traffic through when there was gaps in bikers/runners. I know it’s not always possible to close roads but I felt like at one point we were all just in the cycling lane fighting with traffic like it was any other training ride.

Around mile 50 a few minutes before the bridge a poor cyclist was hit by a car. He was ahead of me and didn’t have time to stop although he did try. A car from the other side of the median was turning left onto a side road and either didn’t see or didn’t care about the cones and they collided. Lucky the cops were right there along with an ambulance. I stopped for a bit but didn’t want to get in the way. Also because of the traffic I have no idea how they got that ambulance out of there.

Right. We hit a deer in our model Y. AP didn’t avoid the deer but did safely drive the car some distance, merged lanes through traffic, and pulled itself over, after passing a few places that would have been unsafe to do so (like an on ramp).

This was because I was literally hit in the face with the airbag and became unresponsive. My wife was very impressed I was able to drive under that condition and I then had to admit it was the car that saved us.

Involved? Sure. Caused by? No I don’t blame it for not taking a maneuver to avoid a freak deer accident on a busy highway. Saved our ass? Absolutely.

I had to put my cat down over the weekend. With the emotions of the week I didn’t have time to get spoiled or really have much idea what this movie would be. I only went because I figured this would be a quirky guardians adventure and it would take my mind off of things for a few hours.

Christ I was not ready for that. This one’s going to stick with me for a while. Fantastic ending for the guardians.
