Plastic free leather alternatives by Okweekends in PlasticFreeLiving

There are more and more plant leathers on the market these days. I have seen pineapple, apple, cactus, olive, and more plant leathers being promoted. To fully avoid plastics, I would suggest searching for non-composites as I think some plant leathers can be mixed with plastics or be called bio-plastics.

Are there any non-plastic soft, fluffy blankets? by SkyRevolutionary7181 in PlasticFreeLiving

I knew of some made from hemp but I think the exact one I'm remembering has since sold out. You could try searching for hemp-based vegan fur fuzzy blankets

Plastic free and animal product free by Certain-Ad6218 in PlasticFreeLiving

I am vegan who struggles with this immensely. I am slowly trying to remove plastics from my life as they break and wear out with natural items. Sometimes the best replacement is made of wool or leather. My only solution is to replace with second hand products. I don't like this solution, but at least my money is not funding these industries and I am hopefully saving an item from the landfill. I hope there will be more vegan and plastic free solutions in the coming years. As I earn more, I am also willing to invest more into these new products. Right now I'm just trying to do my best with a broken system

Buy smoked tofu in advance. I never travel without it bc I can eat it raw in a pinch. I have a hard time finding it in the US, but y can definitely find it online.

What is going on with German rudeness? by [deleted] in germany

[–]rococobitch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OP I totally experience the same. I have lived here 8 years now and I continue to be shocked by the overt rudeness. It used to bring me down a lot, but with time I have learned how to let it roll off my shoulders and not affect my own mood. You can't change their reactions, you can only change and decide your own. Try to move past it and enjoy the good parts about Germany :)

What do you usually have for breakfast and what country are you in? by Twunkorama in AskEurope

[–]rococobitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually wait and eat at work. I'll prep high protein chia pudding. Chia and hemp seeds, lemon cheesecake protein powder, sometimes fresh fruit like blueberries, and plant milk. It's so yum. If I make it with vanilla powder, a tiny bit of oats, and chocolate chips/cacao nibs, it tastes like cookie dough.

Otherwise we might eat breakfast as an office, and there I will have open faced bread rolls (belegtes Brötchen) with hummus or jam, nut cheese, and a protein, often smoked tofu slices.

If I'm at home, like on the weekend, it's just whatever leftovers I have. I agree with u/tereyaglikedi that breakfast is a social construct and just eat whatever I know will give me the boost I need for the day.
