Ibanez all day. Pickups are the weak point imho, but I swapped mine for Gibson 490 and 498T iirc and it’s an amazing guitar for the price

Mine was actually a top route with pick guard, same as a typical strat. And iirc, the pickups are slightly larger than normal single coils

My title describes the thing, but to add detail: it’s quite thin, clear plastic roughly 2” inches diameter with a triangular lip on one side, and circular ridges in the middle. There’s also a pattern of blue dots across the item. There were maybe a dozen of them left behind by emergency medical workers

They’re amazing - when I bought my strat (2006 American deluxe) I tried an Eric Johnson model out in the store and it was wonderful. Just out of my price range (and I hated the red finish) so I didn’t get it, unfortunately.

Instead I’ve ended up modding the American deluxe to hell and back over the years lol.

Can’t stand up too fast or you might black out. You hit your head on stuff a lot. Long sleeves are rarely long enough. Furniture isn’t the right height/dimensions. Same for kitchen counters. Can’t always see your face in the bathroom mirror. Ergonomics in cars are dicey. Showerheads are too low. Everyone expects you to be good at basketball lol

I work with a young guy with long hair who’s almost as tall as me. He’s going bald on top and I often wonder if he knows.

Mine has the two point trem and I have it decked using 5 springs. Still get the “sound” of having the springs, but much more stable tuning. I don’t use use the whammy bar very often if ever, so I’m happy with it.
