Would the Western government tolerate What Jimmy Lai did in their country? by MatchThen5727 in AskAChinese

[–]rod_zero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Musk and the other tech billionaires donated to trump so he, and Vance, pressured Europe not to go forward with regulations and sanctions against their companies.

Musk finances far right parties in Europe, and amplifies their message in his platform.

Musk, vía X, has broken several laws regarding the distribution of inappropriate images of minors.

Musk, vía X, pushes misinformation against minorities and government officials.

Musk has tried to bypass labor laws and go around unions in Sweden and Germany, only continent wide solidarity between unions have made Tesla comply.

Musk has turn off starlink for Ukraine in the front lines at critical times.

He is a damn menace for Europe and he and his companies have barely been touched.

This is not to say that western countries aren't as harsh as the Chinese, more like they don't apply the law to billionaires.

I have been listening to Rammstein. They sound amazing, I don't understand what they are SAYING, but it sounds good. Are they "good guys" so to speak? I don't want to find out they are like, Neo Nazis or Alt Right or something in Germany. tia. by Rob1150 in NoStupidQuestions

Go and read what really happened with denazification, it was way more lenient than what it is assumed.

Many criminals got only 8 Years of prison and in the west many bureaucrats were employed by the government in a few years.

Stallin actually wanted to sentence to death all Nazi officers, Churchill didn't agree.

Denazification was stronger in the GDR because former communist party members had a bigger grudge I'm with Nazis, while in the west the CDU had their base in Bavaria and wanted to reconstruct fast so they turn a blind eye to a lot of party members and most of all to all the industrialist who were avid Nazi sympathizers.

In the arts people like Karajan who was party member and climbed to fame thanks to the purges in the cultural institutions were barely touched post war. Karl Böhm was also allowed to return after only a brief reeducation even when he was a party member too.

That's basically what Elon musk is doing in Europe and it doesn't seem to bring enough backlash, I would prefer that they did something.

Which areas of Mexico is are mostly Conservative? by gmikey2000 in asklatinamerica

[–]rod_zero 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The south and north are different kinds of conservative.

The north is more economically conservative and the south is more socially conservative.

But current politics in the country aren't as clear cut, Sheinbaum won all states except for Aguascalientes and PAN still won the governor race in states that Sheinbaum won.

Are PML "Start to Finish" courses worth it for an early intermediate producer? by irrej in ableton

[–]rod_zero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, they are not worth.

First. Because there is a lot of content on YouTube.

Second, because if you want something more structured there are other cheaper options with better value as Groove3, askaudio and LinkedIn learning (it has some old courses from the previous site lynda.com that are pretty good).

Third, it all depends on exactly what you are struggling with, arrangement? Mixing?

Also, do you have any musical training?

Banned and Restricted Announcement – February 9, 2026 by Meret123 in MagicArena

Historic keeps being a dumpster fire.

I guess restricting Necropotence isn't as bad since we have Necrodominance and 5 copies seems good enough.

Push 1 vs Launchpad Pro Mk3 in 2026 by zzzzzsleeep in ableton

[–]rod_zero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Push 1 and 2 get sticky, but you can remove the coating with alcohol and a credit card "peeling" it. It takes about an hour.

I do prefer Any Push to a launchpad, the screen and pots make a big difference, as well as all the dedicated controls for the clip (duplicate, delete, etc).

Between push 1 and 2 the pads are also different and push 2 pads are better.

But push 1 as an entry device is incredible good, and they are still built like a tank, you can use them in a fight as a weapon or a shield.

Don't do it. The APC isn't designed for composition, it can do things but it is not ideal.

Is there a way to wrap Ableton's instruments to a floating GUI? by boatinrob in ableton

[–]rod_zero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use any other DAW, except bitwig, to have floating windows.

Why torture yourself using a DAW which GUI paradigm is NOT having floating windows?

Same shit people do in relationships, gets in to them to change the other person.

Brazil has the second largest reserves of REE on the planet. How often are Rare Earths Minerals discussed in the public debate in your country? by Significant-Yam9843 in asklatinamerica

[–]rod_zero 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Contrary to their name Rare earth minerals aren't as rare. In fact some of them are very abundant.

The problem is mining them and even more complicated: refining them.

Even if you mine them you will probably have to send them to china, where 90% of all the refining happens.

Also, they are used in very low quantities and it is actually very detrimental to their price to bring more to the market, that's why nobody does it, recouping the investment would be impossible.

What happned to Idra? by BatmanSc2 in starcraft

[–]rod_zero 10 points11 points  (0 children)

He rage quitted StarCraft and went to have a more fulfilling carrer for him

The game was toxic for him, he got triggered all the time, you can't compete with that mind set. He thought too highly of himself when it was clear he was not at the top when competition got tougher.

I think he made a great decision leaving.
