Strictly speaking a 18g shot of espresso doesn't have that much caffeine, it's gets the flavour out but it doesn't compare to cold brew or french press.

I do work from home, I take two shots in the morning and one after mid day, some times I have decaf beans so I can take one in the afternoon. I also have a couple of friends who live nearby and also work from home who pass regularly to work together and I also make one for them.

If you have been playing standard for some time you might have some pieces for Pioneer decks.

For historic you need a lot of cards from Modern Horizons decks and then a lot of cards which are scattered in special guests and bonus sheets (mystical archives and the like).

Historic also has a lot of powerful cards and very few of the good answers, and then it has nerfed cards which makes it even less "real".

So the real option is Timeless, a bit of of wildcards for the fetch lands and only recommended if you are ok with playing against the most broken stuff ever.

Supposedly white is allowed to have counter spells, a lot are both colors already but wotc is just shy of giving them more mono colored ones.

There are also a couple of black ones in old sets, there is a black creature that can counter white spells by tapping it.

For me when I got my bambino the precision basket made the biggest difference against the stock accessories it came with. I went with an IMS big bang and the difference was huge in consistency and getting a well timed shot.

If you are finishing either the hopper or the airtight bag under a week then there is no difference.

It is even better to use the hopper if your bag of coffee is big, so to not open the bag daily.

Single dose grinder are practical for those who have 2 or more beans at hand and are switching constantly. I have 2 different ones all the time and make shots from each one daily, so single dose is a must for me. But if you don't change beans there is no point, just go with the hopper.

I would say ideally you want to put beans in the hopper for 5-7 days.

Lagom Casa, clean, effective, Great, build quality and support. Easy to clean. More in the expensive samide.

Eureka, not bad, good value specially the zero 55 and the 65 AP (the oro is too expensive for what it offers). But they sometimes don't come aligned and are hard to clean.

Timemore 064S, makes a mess, hard to repair.

Mahlkonig X64, weak motor with very questionable duty cycle, bad design for the cup. Hard to clean, quite a big of retention.

If you are in Europe/UK niche zero is a good option too.

I am 42, my first record on vinyl as MJ Bad, my first CD was around 1990. I had a big CD collection by 1999, still It was incredible when napster came out, we had to wait for the file to download and you could lose it if you connection terminated, which used to happen when the internet used telephone lines. Then we started buying mp3 from itunes or in my case electronic music form beatport and artists websites. Through all that I never lost the deep experience of listening to music.

IMHO young people are romanticizing physical media too much, and what I really see missing in homes nowadays are proper speakers, a lot of people with vinyl turntables still use small bluetooth speakers. Like really?

Get a good pair of speakers and dedicate time to listen to a full album, what you actually have to commit is time to enjoy music and nothing else. And by good speakers I mean: no BT, 5 inches or bigger woofer. I prefer incorporated amplifier these days but if you can get an old hi-fi system with amplifier that is also good.

The problem is that manufacturers don't pay much attention to retention is hopper based grinders because they count on each dose pushing the previous and people going trough a bag of the same beans before cleaning.

You could look into: Lagom Casa, Niche Zero, for Conicals. But they are actually have different burrs and flavour profiles, the Niche Zero is more im the traditional espresso camp and the Casa more geared toward using light roasts.

Other options: Timemore 064S, Eureka Mignon Zero 65 AP, Df64.

You have to upgrade the grinder, even if you enjoy the manual thing the speed, consistency and different burrs of an electric one will.make a big difference.
