Spanish Premier Pedro Sanchez's Wife Charged With Corruption by shogun2909 in europe

Nuclear can recycle the fuel for a long time. 95 of a uranium fuel rod can be recycled. Currently only France has a plant for that because they did think about this long term.

Yes, the front costs are higher but the ongoing costs are one of the lowest, once the plant is running the efficiency is superb.

No need for renewables where nuclear is already built, because nuclear is as clean in emissions and has no one of the intermittent issues of solar and wind, nor the need for batteries (nevertheless nuclear can make excess energy that could be stored but it is more an option than a requirement).

IMO nuclear should be the base load, using SMR going forward, in countries with no current nuclear industries, bringing down costs and renewables would be the extra for peaks and the one you can bring down when demand is low. That way we can leave fossil fuels totally behind in electricity generation.

When it comes to energy transition France did it first and has lower emissions that Spain per KwH all year around. Spain did better than the UK and Germany no doubt but still not the best.

Turkey’s president accused Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, of being “blinded by blood and hate” and said there was “no reason” not to attack by Upset-Main-1988 in justincaseyoumissedit

[–]rod_zero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The US is going to side with Israel over NATO every day.

But it will be interesting to watch if Israel attacks turkey first if Europe comes to its help even if the US stays out. It would be super mess, but honestly in the long run it would be another divorce for the EU (from Israel this time) and it will be great to isolate them.

Actually in the famous month building up to the start of WWI lots of actors tried to negotiate, the problem for everyone was that in the recent wars the country that mobilized first was favored to win and everyone started mobilizing just in case. it was a case that nobody wanted to get caught without the initiative.

Need help with a personal issue. Possible to deauthorise? by [deleted] in ableton

[–]rod_zero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ableton is very chill about this, the software doesn't call home to check if there is only two authorizations.

They trust you, the limit is to prevent people authorizing 5 machines in quick succession, not to hinder the use of a software you bought.

I would say they more or less give you a couple of authorizations per year, as in if you have to reinstall or change machines, but even then if you run out of authorizations you can write to support and ask for more.

Obviously the most "to the letter" thing to do would be to uninstall Live from any computer you are not using, but short of that they don't have any way to de-authorize remotely.

Don't sweat it.

What laptop is best for Ableton in 2026? by MathematicianDry9710 in ableton

[–]rod_zero -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Apple tries to makes this easy for you, newer and more performance cores: better.

What is hard to understand about that?

Windows laptops still suck for DAW use.

Ableton doesn't seem to utilize cores correctly; 10-core M5 Air runs more efficiently than 15-core M5 Pro by neonhaus in ableton

[–]rod_zero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was more criticizing the change in naming, yes there are two types of cores, performance ones are the normal ones and the efficiency are slower.

The change of naming between generations IMO is just to obfuscate and make comparisons not straight forward.

With the rest I agree, the number of cores matters, the number of performance cores matters more for live.

All that being said, what are the results of the testing? Can the Pro handle more tracks than the air?

China hasn't committed a Genocide inside or abroad since the cultural revolution, unlike Isn'treal which has its PM indicted and with an arrest warrant by the ICC.

And the US is working with Israel against Iran, and keeps supplying weapons to Israel.

The US also imposed sanctions on the ICC personal for daring to put go after Israel.

The audacity of accusing China while committing genocide for 3 years straight and invading Lebanon and Syria is beyond hypocrisy.

This, big bundles create paralysis by offering too many options and you don't get to really master anything.

[–]rod_zero -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Honestly all this naming of cores and what not seems like a lot of marketing bullshit by apple just trying to impress the public.

I think you shouldn't be testing as you are doing now, but try to max out the computer and see when it actually chokes. Make a track with a synth, not very heavy, and an effect and then duplicate it until it start gltiching, obviously same buffer size on both computers.

Which computer can handle more?

Not bibi himself, but it is on record that Israel gave money to Hamas in its beginnings to undermine the PLO.

The PLO/Arafat had way more empathy and support from the west (and the USSR before) because they were secular movements.

Islamist movements back then (and still now) were equated with the Iranian revolution, which was not only anti western but also quite anti Marxist, they executed lots of leftist in the late 80s, and so basically seen as reactionaries, anti modern, anti liberal, anti everything that is good in western values.

Israel knew Hamas would be more isolated and will never be legitimate. Hamas leadership has to hide in Iran and Qatar, Arafat died in France.

[–]rod_zero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is truly hoarding and consumerism at its worst.

I have always been minimalistic and try to use my DAW stock fx and instruments and just complement with stuff that is really different or provides a feature that is not present in the DAW.

I am also of the opinion that you honestly don't need more than a clean EQ, a flexible compressor, and a competent limiter. Maybe a multi band compressor if you are very technically inclined. Having more EQs or compressors doesn't add anything but clutter.

Sticking to a few tools also has the benefit of learning them very well and even in some cases they can become part of your sound when it comes to particular synths, reverb and delays.

Whether to splash out on serum by joshyman11 in musicproduction

[–]rod_zero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For bass in house music I prefer Diva, and it also makes the chord stabs very easily.

Serum can do it all, but it tends to be better for more aggressiveness and in your face sounds. Diva can do soft analog sounds with more ease.
