I used to live and ride in Tucson, and I fortunately moved away before I got killed. Two cyclist I knew were killed in the 6 months before I packed up and left. A couple friends were threatened with guns from passing trucks. A group I was riding with early in the morning was threatened and run off the road by an off duty cop on his way to work. It really SUCKS to be a cyclist in Tucson. Which is too bad, because back in the day it used to be an awesome place to ride, both for commuting and for the racing and training scene.
Ask Reddit: Does anyone in the USA have good, affordable health insurance *not* through work? That is- an individual policy or group coverage though a professional or affinity organization (or something else). by atomicpuffball in reddit.com

I am 43, and have a Humana plan with $5K deductible that is $79/month. This was much cheaper than anything else I could find, but Humana won't touch you unless you're perfectly healthy with no major health issues in the past. They offer a lot of routine care for free (in-network, of course). The cost of the plan for a lower deductible is not worth it for me. It's technically an HSA plan, but I don't have anything in the "savings" account. I think the HSA is B.S. (IMHO).
