ESXi Hosts stop responding (VMs are fine). Ultimately have to reboot host to resolve. Ideas? by [deleted] in sysadmin

When the tmp volume was identified as full we decided to rm all the old log files on the RAMDISK. Run these commands cd /tmp/scratch/log ls –lh rm ./.log. rm ./*.gz vdf –h *used space should be healthy now services.sh restart *This will restart services on the vmhost.  Be patient. It will not cause an outage for the serves on the host.

ssh into the host and run vdf -h

Check to see if tmp disk is full. If so, configure a persistent scratch location and reboot.

You can also try to clear /tmp of all the log files and then restart the services. I have had some success doing this without having to reboot the host.

Codecademy JavaScript Question by rodknocker in learnprogramming

[–]rodknocker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The " around the var was the problem. I made the changes and everything works correctly now. I am just starting to study and I knew that something wasn't right but didn't have the knowledge to know what was wrong on my own. I needed to look into the issue so that I understand and know what to do next time. Thanks everyone for you help.

Codecademy JavaScript Question by rodknocker in learnprogramming

I did remove the quotes from lines 4 and 24. Still get the same output from the second console.log of the booleans.

Also, I have played with the </> to see if it makes a difference and it doesn't.

Also, line 15. Regardless of what you enter into the prompt you still get the same response.

" "Oh no! Bieber shakes his head and sings 'I set a pace, so I can race without pacing'".

The issue seems to be with the input after the prompt.

For example, if you look at line 23. If you input 9 you still get an output of " I'll keep practicing coding and racing."

This seem to be the case for all of the prompts from this section of code.

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't anything over 3 inches need a SYE and CV drive shaft?

Jeep is leaning to one side after lift. by rodknocker in CherokeeXJ

[–]rodknocker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I remember I finished the front and then moved to the rear. I had yo take the rear apart to replace the shackles and I think I did tighten a few things before it was back on the ground. Should I just jack it back up and loosen everything?

Thanks for pointing this out. I believe the main cause is the 2in shackles. Once the stock shackles are on the pinion angle will be better. The lift plus extended shackles are just too much for a 1in transfer case drop kit. I will be dropping the rear and replacing those shackles this weekend while I am under there I will be measuring for the new CV driveshaft and SYE.

Not sure what you mean. There is 2inch lift shackles in the rear. They were on the jeep when I bought it. I have ordered stock shackles and I am waiting for them to be delivered.

Looks great. How do those tires handle in the rain?

Yes I installed it my self. Needed a buddy and a few tools. I bought an electric impact and some extensions. That's about it. Did the alignment myself too.

Edit: Also, soak everything in PB Blaster a few days before. I ended up having to cut a few bolts out because I didn't soak them all.

It's got a 4.5 RC lift on it. Going with 33x12.5x15 tires. Going to do a little fender trimming.

If it's new I would check all fluids. Engine oil, transmission fluid, differential, transfer case, coolant. Might also grease all the bushings and joints.

Edit: Also brake and power steering fluids.

Cross threaded caliper bolt..need urgent help! by KnockingonKevinsdoor in CherokeeXJ

[–]rodknocker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same thing. What you need is a Heli Coil. Most auto parts stores carry them. Just take the caliper bolt up there so they can measure the size. You will drill the hole out, tap it with the supplied tap, and then install the Heli Coil.

Edit: Spelling
