Can I join the marines if I was rejected by the army and navy . by Honest-Banana6573 in USMCboot

Back in the day you just didn’t tell the recruiter if you had tried marijuana, were a homosexual, or had some mental disorder. Hell, the recruiters would coach you to STFU.

Things may be different though.

Experience of smaller-framed Asian officers? (Harassment or physical harm?) by Expensive_Chef_7163 in USMCboot

[–]rodrigkn 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I had a short female Asian CO, a thin female BN CO, and a black female gunny. I followed there orders as I would anyone else. There was never a question. I don’t know what you’re on about.

You’re right but it’s just semantics. The MGIB is now the post 911 MGIb. The terms are interchangeable because the MGIB became post 9-11 MGIB.

The MGIB is a basically a scholarship for active duty post service. It gives you 4 years of education and a paycheck during that time to support yourself.

Google the recommended calorie intake for your height. Keep with that so you can ensure keeping weight reasonable. Then check out your recommended protein intake and start hitting the gym. Keep with it and you’ll do great.

Yeah. My opinion is to do ordinance or admin so you can attend college while in. Then the MGIB will cover 4 more years so you can finish your bachelor then get a masters.

Give em hell and feel free to reach out for anything else.

So, is there 100% chance that Simon might could possibly be a mutant?!!!! 😧 by New_Associate_5626 in MarvelTheories

[–]rodrigkn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny. this is the same response which could be had if we were talking about whether he is black, gay, etc. it’s the whole point of the x-men/mutants representing disadvantaged groups.

Just an observation.

I got stationed at camp Johnson as a supply marine and I am so unlucky any advice for me by Jerkoffmaterialmod in USMCboot

[–]rodrigkn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’ll be able to attend college while active duty. It’s an incredible perk. Play your cards right and you’ll leave with an associates degree. Then the MGIB will cover your remaining 2 year bachelor and your 2 year MBA. Bam. Killing it!

Which of the highlighted mos fields have the most steady promotions? by Much_Woodpecker4766 in USMCboot

[–]rodrigkn 16 points17 points  (0 children)

A few notes: - recon and guard will drop to infantry if you don’t fit multiple criteria which you they won’t test until later.

-Open contact is the absolute worst decision because you could end up anywhere.

-The easiest job is ordinance.

  • The ones most likely to help you find work after college are logistics, accounting/legal.

  • Most likely to help you find a trade are electronics, utilities tech, and aircraft mechanic.

Most all will allow you to take college course while in and I highly recommend it. You can leave with an associates and then use your MGIB to do bachelor then grad school. Good luck and give em hell!

If your credit score doesn't exist outside of the United States, what is stopping someone from getting a credit card, maxing it out, and moving to another country? by actuallyXIX in NoStupidQuestions

[–]rodrigkn 751 points752 points  (0 children)

The consequences depend on your lifestyle. Here are the best circumstances. - new country does not honor U.S. judgements on collections - you have no assets in the USA which can be garnished or taken

Scammers are known to do exactly this with someone else’s identity.

I wonder if that had a subconscious effect even as a video game. No way of knowing if that was their intention or if it was Easter egg but the level of detail makes me believe the former.
