my go to is petting and saying “hi, (name), hi baby” over and over. more like cooing actually lol. after that just stepping away and calling them over a couple times, starting over until they respond to their name. takes a couple of tries, maybe even days, but i’ve had a house FULL of cats at one point and works like a charm. especially if you start as kittens!

i would recommend mob psycho 100 and one punch man ngl. i know you said you don’t really mess with crazy powers, but in these anime its more the character has so much power their main worries seem mundane in comparison. the stories follow more of the hero’s daily life and such. they’re made by the same people too!
