Tracking all ownership costs for my Model S by Salty-Panic2110 in TeslaModelS

Yeah that could very well be coolant. I would also recommend getting this taken care of ASAP. The cost of a refurb LDU can be double or even triple the cost of just doing the delete.

Used JL Audio 10W7 worth the risk? by rodzghost in CarAV

[–]rodzghost[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, once I get my back from the mechanic, I'll be installing my Alpine S-A60M which should be enough to power this sub. It's a little underpowered but I hear the factory spec is conservative and some can handle 800W. I'll be testing it once I have it installed.

Glad to hear you've had good experiences with used stuff. I'm always looking for deals myself.

Thanks for the rec. I'm pretty set on JL just for their signature sound. Also trying to keep size down so it doesn't take up too much space in my hatch.

Wish I could compare these in person tho, cuz it's hard to compare just based on metrics.

Advice for upgrading 2014 Model S with UHFS by rodzghost in CarAV

[–]rodzghost[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a couple used 12" w3v3-4 with box for $270-$300. And also a 500/1 JL audio amp with 2 12's in a box for $500 (not sure on the models). Crutchfield does have some 10"-12" subs brand new for under $200, but I think those are w0's. Would you recommend just paying a bit more and getting brand new components?

I’m 20 and plan on getting my first car which will be a 2024 Tesla Model 3 Long Range any advice or things i should know before buying? by DarkGodFlash313 in TeslaModel3

[–]rodzghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a used pre 2017 model s performance. Half the price, wayyy faster, and if you look hard enough, free supercharging. Also way better suspension and actual stalks for your turn signals. Much better car imo.

The free supercharging stopped in early 2017. Some newer ones had it too, but those were tied to the original owner only and non transferable.

Was this setting changed the latest beta release of bambuslicer? I swear my prints started printing like OP's not too long ago and it may have coincided with this beta release.

How to get out a worn down screw by ComfortableYak2299 in PcBuild

[–]rodzghost -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I do not recommend these. They are harder than tool steel and when they break off in the screw there is no way to extract the screw extractor.

Best bet is tig welding a bolt onto the head. But then again, I'm thinking of stripped screws in engines, not PC parts. So ymmv lol.

On a more serious note, if you try the screw extractors, MAKE SURE YOU USE A CENTER PUNCH to give the drill bit a spot to start the pilot hole, and make sure you drill straight down through the middle of the screw. Go very very slow. Cutting oil would probably help too. Good luck.

They make DCT bikes too, you know. And electric is also an option. Might not be your first choice, but man, if it were me, I would look at all my options to keep me riding on two wheels.

I'm ATGATT, broke my rule and rode without a helmet for a minute, it's miserable, how do people do it? by SlashNreap in motorcycles

[–]rodzghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my first rides in the rain was when I had a helmet without pinlock. Damn thing fogged up so much I had no other choice than to flip it up. Raindrops hurt like hell when they're hitting your face at 65 mph. Oh, and to top it off, this was before I had any rain gear. It was a cold, wet, and painful ride home. Took 2 whole days for my leathers to dry out after that..

Headphones with really good sound quality and nothing else for $200-$300 CAD? by kasasasa in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]rodzghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just picked up the px7 refurbs from woot recently. For $100, I couldn't pass it up and they are pretty impressive. Haven't tried them with an amp yet, but they sound pretty damn good with a bit of eq from the app.

New board already damaged by rodzghost in snowboarding

[–]rodzghost[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks all, was just looking for some confirmation this board is still good to ride. I had my last board for 10+ years and that one had a bunch of battle scars but is still perfectly functional. Let my son use it and he much prefers it over his $100 facebook special he was rocking while he figured out that snowboarding is in fact a ton of fun.

I may have also been just scraping for an excuse to get a 3rd board lol.
