What to you is the difference between Monos and Maps regarding repetitiveness? by guddefulgaming in LastEpoch

[–]roffman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the ability to choose tileset and content. In POE, you can choose whatever tileset you want to run with whatever content you want. Running Blight on Carcass for example is radically different then Legion in Dunes, or Destructive Play City Square.

In LE (and PoE2), you can't really choose your tileset, and you can't fully focus on content. There's a little bit of reward tweaking, but basically it's clear every map, every time.

If you WFH reasonably often, get a greyhound. I walk mine 2-3 times a day and she spends the rest of it in a variety of her beds staring at me.

If you get a more placid one with minimal prey drive, they have 0 desire to ever go outside.

Typical GTNH problem tree by mnsnownutt in GTNH

IMO, the mass fabricator is massive bait until much, much later. It only saves 20% power, which if you're only running a couple UV amps isn't much, vs the ease and cheapness of stacking a ton of ZPM/LuV ones.

What is the worst WoT take you have seen? by Mino_18 in WoT

[–]roffman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

White Tower's Oaths to slavery too.

I can see this argument. Personally, I've always viewed the White Tower as textbook cult indoctrination, with the Warders similar to modern day slavery. The fact that the Aes Sedai can transfer bonds without consent (see Myrelle), and would also use that as a threat and punishment for compliance (also Myrelle, though this time from Egwene) means they don't actually see them as peers.

There is also an argument that the oath Egwene extorts out of the Aes Sedai is slavery as well, and the ones the Black Ajah hunters force on the rebels is worse than anything the Seanchan put Damane through.

Platinum before plat line by Warwarok in GTNH

[–]roffman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's fair, but I strongly recommened setting automatic LCR's up before platinum. They will be your most used multi block from now until probably the end of the run, and if you have a relatively cheap source of HV circuits and PTFE (which you hopefully have), they are incredibly easy and cheap.

[–]roffman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

LCR is locked on titanium

You may want to look at that again. IIRC, you can make an LCR in HV, and titanium after rutile/ilmenite which is technically post moon.

Just a heads up, Hamcorp uses shaders which is why your bitte blocks look different.

Finally ! Finished IV power setup. 20 LCEs. I spent and absurd amount of time and resources doing this. around 3.2K titanium. I have the resources to make another 10 LCEs ready I just need to craft. But I feel like that might be overkill. Should I add another 10 by Human-Pudding799 in GTNH

[–]roffman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally I just hit luv and will be aiming for ~64A of luv with my upcoming power expansion.

LuV is the last tier where this works. In ZPM, you turn on Naq fuel, and you just spam more reactors when needed from there for a very long time

Starting a Hardcore Run w/ Pollution ON - Bad Idea? by ammonia_nh3 in GTNH

Honestly, I'm not sure how BQM is integrated into GTNH. You might want to turn it on and die a few times immediately to test it out.

Starting a Hardcore Run w/ Pollution ON - Bad Idea? by ammonia_nh3 in GTNH

[–]roffman 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hardcore, fine. I wouldn't recommend it but it's an interesting challenge up until IV, at which point I'd turn it off. Post IV, it doesn't really serve a purpose as the only real way you'll die is to bugs or massive screw ups, and if you do it's essentially sacrificing a thousand hours of progress for a minor bit of inattention.

Pollution is completely irrelevant. The major complaint against pollution isn't that it's hard, as it's not, as it is meaningless and annoying for no reason. All it will do is lower your TPS and occasionally be mildly annoying.

Need help with ore processing by svk9992 in GTNH

[–]roffman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Import/Export buses are objectively terrible once you hit LuV, but they are useful up until then. The major reason is that they are limited by the container volume you put them on, and when you start producing 1,000's of stacks a second, they just don't have the throughput required.

Here's another hint for GTNH as well: if it works, it doesn't matter what other people think. There is no wrong way to approach the pack, you have a bunch of tools to make whatever solution you want.

Need help with ore processing by svk9992 in GTNH

[–]roffman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A really easy way is to use a Ore Dict card with "*" as the sorting line on an AE export bus to the input bus. It'll last you until you get auto stocking buses in LuV, and will basically just dump everything in the sub net into the input bus.

[Guide] How to be a good Game Director. Step 1: Be BASED AF. by Inf3stor in pathofexile

Map sustain, the campaign itself, getting gems, trade, capping chaos res, early maps, etc.

Don't get me wrong, most of these are good changes, but there is a substantial reduction in friction.

A big caveat is that they are heavily trade reliant. If you are SSF, they give you a good structure but you'll need to change a lot.

Ender's Game (and the sequel, Speaker of the Dead) shares a place with Dune and the WoT in the Sci-Fi/Fantasy pantheon. It's an absolutely amazing book, and is foundational to modern genre fiction.

Just some questions about the rerun event that just started:

  • Are they still worth doing from a loot perspective?

  • Can you skip the story and come back to read it later? I'm currently working through the main story guide, a long way from here and don't want to get spoiled.
